★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Firstly Make it a point that people here have posted pictures of " Jai Shri shankar Punjabi dhaba" which is located in Civil lines and is more like a big restaurant.
This is a Roadside Dhaba near AG office. There are few delicious bati chokha points in front of this dhaba (to help people locate it easily).
Regarding food quality - Taste of dishes - 7/10
Price - budget pricing of items (thali starts from ₹90. Goes upto ₹150.
Hygiene is a major issue as this being a roadside dhaba you never know your roti may come from dough kneaded in a dirty utensil kept in ground.
Other issues of hygiene you yourself would find.
Also the menu is not really cheap but like a typical restaurant.
So overall, you may try having food here but this dhaba does not justify so high reviews and accolades. Either people don't know what is to be evaluated while giving 5 star or they just follow herd mentality.
I eat ₹100 thali at nearby restaurant - om sai ki rasoi. This restaurant has a costly menu but it provides ₹100 thali only for lunch (which is not mentioned in the menu book) And believe me after eating ₹100 thali at shri shankar dhaba when you eat ₹100 thali at sai ki rasoi, you would feel a big difference in taste, presentation, hygiene, cleanliness, everything. So I would not visit this dhaba again for my lunch thali.
Rest is upto people to decide.
