I recently visited your store and was quite unsatisfied with my visit. I bought two camel bone handicraft boxes from Mr. Vijay. We agreed that I would pay part in cash and part on my credit card. I had three problems with the entire transaction. 1st problem: After counting my money three times. Twice alone and a third time in front of Vijay, we both agreed that I paid 14000 rupees, then suddenly there was only 12000 according to Vijay. I insisted that I gave him 14000 and in the end he left it after he tried to get the money out of me but I refused 2nd problem: When charging the remaining amount on my card he wrote the total price higher than was owed. Luckily my driver caught him and he fixed the total. 3rd problem: They wrapped by "boxes" (out of my sight) in bubble wrap and tape, however when I came home and unwrapped my boxes the smaller box that I bought was missing. I talked to your salesman on the phone who insisted that they wrapped the two boxes separately and but them in the bag, however I never had two separate packages, I had one, and I assumed that both the boxes were in the package and didn't unwrap them until I got home. I never once took anything out of the bag during my entire trip, so it is impossible that I left the box somewhere else. After I emailed the store hoping to get the owner I was told to "prove it"

Nice selection but VERY high prices of textiles Because of the convenience of many things under one roof and a demonstration of carpet weaving, washing and finishing, our tour company chose to take us there as part of the 'shopping experience'. If you have ever been on a group tour, you know that there is usually little time to shop independently and you may not know where to go for the best prices. Thus the big stores are used by tour companies. The carpets upstairs were reasonably priced, not cheap, not overly expensive. But you will pay the same price in the US for a similar handloomed cotton & wool carpet of the same size. However, the textile area downstairs is a huge ripoff. Approximately 300% of the market price. An example: a kurta (light cotton Indian dress) that costs at most $40 in Fabindia was priced at $190 - 20%. Even with a supposed discount, this is way too much. Idem for the 'premium' pashminas which should be handloomed but not all are. These are not displayed on the floor, they are in a side room. The same fine quality with similar embroidery in the Delhi airport Indiacrafts shop costs about 68% as much as the same pashmina in Jaipur Handicrafts. US$490 vs $720! And the airport one had much more double-faced embroidery. Among other things, I bought 3 shawls, 2 super expensive 'premium' and one expensive but with no embroidery. Unfortunately I did not open them out fully until several weeks later just before Christmas. the cheaper shawls (US$165) had several brown stains. I had it dry cleaned but some stains remained. I wrote to Jaipur Handicrafts and they promised to replace the stained shawl. After about a month of email exchanges they sent me a photo of the proposed replacement shawl. I asked whether it was white or cream as I had originally bought. Never got an answer. Instead, a week later I received a totally different STOLE - not shawl - a thin, cheap beige wool with skimpy fringe, totally different and inferior to the one I paid $165 for in the store. I had intended to send the stained shawl back to the company -- it was already packed up to ship back -- until I saw what they sent me. The replacement wasn't worth even the expense of sending it so I discarded it. Moral of the story: buyer beware! If you have some addresses or recommendations and the time to shop on your own, do it. Or go to government shops or large department stores where you can be sure of that the price matches the quality.

I think all the time they are searching for prey. They try to force you to buy something or even more. They just want your money nothing else. They say ki dkh lijiye koi jaruri nhi ki khareede aap and then after showing articles they ask 'to pack kr de ' forcefuly .they push customer to buy things . If customer is willing to buy he has his own mouth to say . Plz don't go there . Visit only if you have a lot money to spend . Pathetic experience . I'll NVR visit this place again ?

visited the showroom whilst on a tour, was shown beautiful rugs, ordered one and advised it would be sent in 6weeks - 12 weeks later the rug arrived after assurances that it would be inspected prior to leaving India. The rug is the same design we ordered but sadly not the quality, it does not even lay flat on the floor so thin is the rug. It is not the same quality we saw, felt walked on and rubbed our feet on in the showroom, in fact not even close. Its a shame this has impacted our appreciation of a wonderful trip. Stay clear unless you take the rug with you from the showroom.

We came to this wonderful handicraft store through our guide we had in Jaipur. He was wonderful and so was the store. I spotted a one of a kind mirror that now hangs in our bedroom and reminds me of the magical time we had in India. We also bought a beautiful window. Both are inlaid camel bone and hand painted. Simply gorgeous and the craftsman ship superb. The two items were shipped to Massachusetts within three weeks of our return home. Expertly packed and shipped. We were very happy with the service in the shop and also with the shipped merchandise. Highly recommended and so much to choose from. A really great shopping experience.

They offer detailed demonstrations how they create their crafts. They are very willing to show you your taste, & preference, negotiate a price, but if you're not interested they back off. I still want to make a purchase, thought their prices were somewhat reasonable.
