Jalalgarh Kila(Fort) is almost 299 yrs old ruined fort located at 21 km north of Purnia(purnea), Bihar. The fort was built by Md. Saif Khan, Faujdar of Purnea. The fort is a large guadrangular structure and has high walls which helped to protect the wall from Nepalese invasion. The fort is an embodiment of the beauty of both Hindu and Muslim architecture.

Jalalgarh Fort is an almost 300 years old ruined fort located at 20 km north of Purnia, Bihar, India. The fort was built by Saif Khan Barha, the nawab of Purnia in 1722. The Jalalgarh Fort is quadrangle shaped, was once the night and glory of the royal family of Purnia. This 300 year old ruin is still visited by many enthusiastic tourists. The sheer beauty, left even in the remains, holds evidence of Hindu as well as Islamic examples of architecture.

Almost 300 years old fort at purnea. Built by Saif khan Faujdar of purnea in 1722. Fort is an embodiment of the beauty of Islamic architecture. Fort is for protection from Nepale invasion at that time. Fort has high walls and rectangular like structure. Situated 30km from purnea bus stand and 22km from purnea junction.In fact it is a Mughal army cantonment.This fort was built for the security of the country from a strategic point of view.Jalalgarh was named after Mohammad Jalaluddin Khan.

Worn down place where you can see ruins of an old fort in between fields , Could have been maintained better.Dont need tickets its amidst fields.

Its dilapidated and in bad condition can go for a look but nothing much to see there , Except ruins of an old fort surrounded by fields and plants growing on the fort itself

Jalalgarh fort ...as It's name it is located near east of NH jalalgarh. It's is meant that it was built for the protection of soldiers and king in mughal era... It is surrounded by 4 walls and every joint has a round room like structure.that was used for security check. It's main gate is at the South. It needs protection now .....

Quick Fact . i am from jalalgarh distance between my home to jalalgarh fort approximate 4.500mtr. Structure The fort is a large quadrangular structure and has high walls which helped to protect the wall from Nepalese invasion. The fort is an embodiment of the beauty of Islamic architecture. Restoration In January 2012, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that Government of Bihar would be restoring and repairing the fort. He ordered Purnia district authorities to do this restoration work.
