The station has four platforms which are not well sheltered. The station is on the Tatanagar–Bilaspur section of Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line with daily connections to Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Nagpur, Puri, Visakhapatnam Tatanagar Raipur and Ahmedabad. The station is 6 km from Janjgir collectorate.

But all services is not very good,
Drinking water service in janjgir railway station is not good. And fast food service and stalls is not open all time. almost closed evening time. And not good arengmen of seating . All platform is not covered by ruff.
No parking area in front of janjgir railway station. And no good fast food stalls and no hotels near of station.
You can get petrol autos all time available.
And city buses some time.
You can get fruits and small stalls of normal fast foods .
