★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited in holidays after Navratri.. there was huge rush took 4.30 hrs to complete the temple.
It's magical place the jwala ji is present in form of flame coming out from rocks.
The flame is not that hot and people can easily move their hands through the flame without burning. Quite cool right!
Also there is a water pond where water seems to be boiling but pandit ji can easily place their hands inside and sprinkle that water over the crowd in queue and it feels cool
Magic!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Jwalamukhi Temple is a famous Hindu Shrine located in Himachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of the country and dedicated to Goddess Jwalamukhi who is considered the deity of the ‘flaming mouth’. Jwalamukhi means ‘Volcano’ and hence the temple does not have an idol or Image, but only a flaming pit representing the deity. There is a three square foot pit, with a pathway developed all around it which leads to a hollowed rock over a fissure in the ground from which flames leap out.
This fissure is regarded as the mouth of the Mahakali and in all there are nine fissures which symbolize the nine forms of the Divine Mother in various Avatars. The flames leaping out from the ground are believed to represent the deity and hence, she is revered as the Goddess of Light. Legend has it that this is the place where Goddess Sati’s tongue fell to the Earth when Lord Vishnu cut apart her body with his Sudarshan Chakra. She is revered as Maa Durga who manifested here as the flames that leap through the fissures in the rock.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jawalamukhi is a famous temple to the goddess Jwalamukhi, the deity of flaming face. Raja Bhumi Chand Katoch of Kangra, a great devotee of goddess Durga, dreamt of the sacred place and the Raja set people to find out the whereabouts of the site. The site was traced and the Raja built a temple at that location. When Akbar was the ruler in India, he tried to extinguish the sacred flame but he wasn't successful after many attempts and bowed in front of Godess Jawalamukhi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jawalamukhi is a famous temple to the goddess Jwalamukhi, the deity of flaming face. Raja Bhumi Chand Katoch of Kangra, a great devotee of goddess Durga,
For Aarti, the temple remains open from 11.00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M. and from 06.00 P.M. to 07.00 P.M. The Mughal Emperor Akbar once tried to extinguish the flames by covering them with an iron disk and even channelizing water to them. But the flames blasted all these efforts. Akbar then presented a golden parasol (chhattar) at the shrine. However, his cynicism at the power of devi caused the gold to debase into another metal which is still unknown to the world. His belief in the deity was all the more strengthened after this incident. Thousands of pilgrims visit the shrine round the year to satisfy their spiritual urge.[4]
