My mom dropped her phone one morning, while walking our dog. She only realised much later, after she got to work. By then, someone had picked up her phone, and switched it off. Obviously.
But as luck would have it, he took the phone to JMD Communication in Ghata Village, Gurgaon, to be unlocked. Vijender, who runs the shop, realised that it was a (now) stolen phone and threatened to call the cops, sending the other guy off without the phone. He then called back on one of the numbers from which there were missed call notifications and we were able to locate the phone.
When I picked up the phone from him, he refused to take the money I was offering him saying, “Main paise nahin loonga. Yeh toh maine aise hi kiya.”
