Given a significant portion of Heerak Rajar Deshe was filmed here, this place is of great interest to many. The solitary hill in the midst of plain areas all around look very beautiful. To my distress, I found the area strewn with litter, with people paying no heed to how carelessly they were making the place dirtier. I found a fair going on at this place, and no one seemed to be bothered by how unclean they have made the place. It is very sad to see a place of tourist attraction and considerable importance going to waste this way.

If you want to view Ramdhura range and the city you never find the better place than the top of Joychandi Pahar. Difficult for older people as you have to stairs up almost 480 steps. Pics attached: view from the top and temple at the top

Must visit place while you're exploring Purulia. An old temple of Joychandi Mata on the hill top. Have to climb around 500 stair steps to reach the temple premises. The "bird's eye" view of the city from the top is breathtaking. You can have some refreshments like fruits, nimbu pani, lassi etc after completing the trek. Food stalls are available there.
