સુરેન્દ્રનગરના થાનગઢથી ત્રણેક કી.મિ.ના અંતરે આવેલું પ્રાચીન સમયનું સૂર્યમંદિર જુના સુરજદેવળ તરીકે ઓળખાય છે. 13મી સદીમાં વાળા વળોચજીએ બંધાવેલ/જિર્ણોધ્ધાર કરેલ આ મંદિરની રચના મુલતાની શૈલીનું અનુસંધાન કરાવેછે આ મંદિર પૂર્વાભિમુખ છે અને ફરતા ગોખમાં સૂર્ય તથા નવ ગ્રહોની ઉભેલી આકૃતિઓના શિલ્પો છે. મંદિરના બારશાખના ઓતરંગમાં ઉતકટિકાસનમાં બિરાજેલ સુર્યમૂર્તિ અને નવગ્રહોની આકૃતિઓ કંડારેલ છે. શિલ્પકળાની ભાષામાં મંડપ ભદ્ર અને પ્રતિરથની રચનાને કારણે ત્રિરથ પ્રકારના છે.
મુઘલોએ મંદિરને તોડીપાડવા કરેલા હુમલા વખતે કાઠીક્ષત્રીઓએ યુદ્ધ કરીને મંદિરને બચાવી લીધું હતું, આ યુદ્ધમાં ખપાયેલા કાઠીઓના પાળિયા આજે પણ મંદિરની બહાર જંગનો રંગ દર્શાવતા ઉભા છે.

Ancient Sun Temple in Junagadh is known as Surajvadi, three kilometers from Thangadh, Surendranagar. This temple is built in front of the 13th century. It is a temple oriented, and the rotating gokha has the sculptures of the sun and the nine planets standing. The diagrams of Suryamurthy and Navagrahas, which are arranged in the Utsikatasana in the wall of the temple of Barsha, are covered. In the language of sculpture, the Mandap is a three-tirtha type due to the elite and the formation of the formation.
The Kadhikshitas fought and destroyed the temple after the Mughals attacked the temple, the rugs of this battle are still standing in front of the temple.
