Mainly this place is known as (Ranital) but as Himachal known as devbhoomi and one of the shaktipeeth "Maa Jawala devi" temple is just 17 km from this station so for that purpose this station got this name .. located on Dharamshala - Shimla Highway ... You can easily got buses after walking few metres from railway station

It is situated 15km away from district headquarter Kangra and 29km from Jwalamukhi, 14 KM towards South from District head quarters Dharamsala. Kangra is the sub-district headquarter of Ranital village. Its only railway station near to Jwalamukhi( narrow-gauge railway line). Its a very small village, but very beautifull. Toy train experience is owsm.
Rani Tal is surrounded by Nagrota Bagwan Tehsil towards East , Rait Tehsil towards North , Dharamshala Tehsil towards North , Gopalpur Tehsil towards East.

valley railways. Pilgrims who come for maa Jawalamukhi darshan step down here & take
buses and taxies for temple just 21 km away from here. Some guest houses, rooms & food points also available here. Station is so beautiful has good facilities for visitors. Train stoppage 5 - 10 minutes or as per crossing.
