Ma'am is very supportive motivating caring and loving at the same time she makes sure that each and every student improves day by day ... Not only in dance but also by personality , Senior Didi's are also very supportive ....
I've learnt a lot of things being a student of Kalaniketan . Lucky to be a disciple of Ma'am .

It is indeed our "maher"(Marathi for mothers house) Here, not only dance is taught but also very important values and lessons that are useful lifelong. maam is the most loving, caring person one can find. she always encourages the students to push themselves to perfection, she makes the students understand the essence and soul of the intricate and complex but magnificent Indian classical dance. I wouldn't have been who i am today if i hadn't stepped inside Kalaniketan Bharatnatyam Dance Institute 9 years back. Its the best thing that has happened to me in my life❤❤❤❤❤.

This is basically a factory that manufactures inept students who are not recognized in the field of classical dance. 30-40 students are taught together, with no personal attention from the teacher. Arengetram is JOKE, it is not a traditional arengetram, it is a group dance performance. Do your child a favour and stay away from this place. Many new and upcoming institutes in the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uma Tilak Guru is just the best perfect guru of her kind in India. Many dance school just teach for the sake of teaching .her teaching is purely traditional and art base .they have syllabus exams unlike many dance institutes who just finish it and do pompous arangetram.

I have been a student of this Institute for nearly 10 years. I had learnt Bharatnatyam as a child and taken a break to pursue education and joined Kalaniketan when I started working. Uma Maam has always been very dedicated, abundantly patient , extremely hardworking and making sure all her students learn and understand nuances involved ; be it theory or practical. She pays attention to each student, encourages every student and helps them in every way. I had to take a break due to personal reasons (pregnancy) and Maam and her Daughter Priya both helped me get back on my feet (literally). I am very happy the way this institute has helped and always helps Students and I am an confident believer that if you want your children to learn Bharatnatyam this is the best institute to do so. It has become more difficult with Covid 19 and Maam has paved the way with Online classes which will help students in future even when they move to other countries. I have seen the intense training students go through for Arangetram and it is no joke - you could ask any former student who has spent hours rehersing and perfecting this lovely dance form to ensure each beat is accompanied by its companion of talam!
