★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Poor service, Shimla was very hot this summer and too much dust traffic jam pollution that you cannot open window and taxi union driver didn't open the AC. Horrible experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is taxi union at Kalka Railway station. From here taxis are available for all Himachal and Shimla in particular. Kalka railway station being the nearest broad gauge station for Shimla, a number of tourists takes taxi for onward journey for Shimla.
The Kalka Shimla taxi charges are fixed by the taxi union from time to time and all taxi operators adhere to this.
All types of Vehicles including Tata Indica, Tata Indigo, Tata Sumo, Tavera, Innova, Force Traveller are available from the Kalka Taxi union.
The taxi service is available 24 hours

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shimla kalka shimla taxi charges are not similar to the charges which we see in the plain area like delhi or any other cities. Yhere There charges are straight away approximately thirty rupees per km.. like if distance is 30km then more tha thousand will be the charges. And it is normal fare not extra.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are just looting the tourist. Charge exhorbitant. First they give us the receipt and then tell us there is no AC. They say that the receipt states that AC requires extra charge whereas it doesn't say anything like that. They charge any price whatever they wish. Not worth a try. Better book a train further. Bargaining doesn't work. They are the boss and don't listen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We paid ₹500 for travelling from old bus stand to New Shimla sector 3 or 4 (if I had taken the bus, the total amount would have been something like 30-40₹ roughly). A bit costly but I guess it's okay for tourists. (Ps If it's not crowdy, I recommend taking the bus instead.)
