★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The zoo is near the kankaria lake. Very beautiful location with lots of greenery.
Monkey, bear, dear, snakes, tiger, panther, jackal, crocodile and many other species can be seen.
It has a small canteen inside for chips, cold drinks and other snacks.
Adult tickets is for ₹50 and kids ₹20 as on 3rd nov 2021

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Kamala Nehru Zoological Garden is spread over an area of approximately 110 acres, with a large number of related amenities around the Kankaria Lakefront falling under it. The zoo itself is about 31 acres of the total.
Also known as the Kankaria Zoo (since its located on the banks of the famous Kankaria Lake), this zoo is home to a large number of rare species of Indian animals that have been retained for recreational as well as ecological purposes.
The zoo also conducts breeding of species like crocodiles and the python. It boasts of a dedicated staff that look after all the inhabitants of the zoo with the utmost efficiency and care. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the zoo and, in fact, the entire Kankaria Lakefront.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think this is a jail for big animals like Tiger,Lion, Panther, etc. because they are kept in very small cages. I believe either they must be shifted to a sufficient large space where they can enough space to move around or shift them to another big zoo which has enough space. These big animals looks depressed and tired and they are living in pathetic situation. Monkey cages are also in the same situation please free them to live life. There is No hygiene in the cages and it smells a lot. After visiting this zoo I felt sorry for the animals there.
The reptile house is small but it looks fine.
Overall it is a poorly maintained zoo and it needs proper renovation and cleaning.

Your children's will enjoy watching all the different verieties of animals in this zoo.
Need 2 hours of time to complete the zoo visit.
Go early as the ticket queues are very long and tiresome

Entry fee is 50 Rs which includes Nocturnal Zoo Entry also.
It is very good for children and family.
Zoo needs proper maintenance and cleaning, else its good.
You will find a food stall inside the zoo, where you will get popcorn, puff, snacks, cooldrinks, ice creams, etc.
You have to walk a lot to see entire zoo, so a battery vehicle is also introduced now a days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This zoo has a lot of potential but lacks proper maintenance and the spark. The area is big, I think with some proper maintenance the visitors' experience can be improved a lot. Although it may be because of the pandemic. The nocturnal zoo is a must visit!
