★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is good, normal home-cooked Oria food. Simple, healthy, nothing fancy.
However the cottage cheese quality was not at all up to the mark given that it is Orissa which is famous for its chanaa.
Also they served something like sweet yellow pulao and not panta bhaata, typical of Oria thali.
Hospitality quotient is low. The manager came to apologize for some technical power related problem but apologised selectively, to his special guest and some foreigners and completely ignored me and my husband who were first customer that morning.
I would like to mention and thank the chef, who came out to see how we are receiving the food and answered queries related to food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Your search for great Oriya food ends here. Small (~15) places for seating and part of larger restaurant complex of Mayfair Lagoon hotel.
After searching for a place for tasting good local fare and getting disappointed at few, landed here to end up super satisfied.
Option of ala- carte as well as fixed thali/ set plate is there. Opted for set dinner and at around ₹ 650 proved out to be value for money.
The food took its own sweet time to arrive but it was worth waiting. Everything from dal to chicken to sweet dish was very good. Service was very good and staff was attentive and happy to serve.
I would recommend this place if your are looking for a fine dining place for Oriya food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Mayfair Lagoon is known as one of the best exquisite hotels in Odisha, but it was a disappointment to experience at KANIKA restaurant...The behaviour of the manager was very rude and unprofessional. After waiting for 40 minutes the manager didn't respond to us. Even the foods were not found tasteful and satisfactory. The restaurant should emphasize on the customer service as well as customer satisfaction.....

The Oriya food here is out of this world and so is the Punjabi delicacies... Don't miss this experience for anything..

Their portion size his good, genuine ingredients are used, staff is courteous , food is hygienic and very tasty. It's a must visit for anyone aspiring to taste good quality Odia food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited this iconic Odia cuisine resturant of Bhubhaneshwar during my motorcycle ride and had a fantastic time. The ambiance of the entire property is mesmerizing and the service of the staff was courteous. The Odia Thali I ordered was super delicious and I enjoyed everything that was part of the Thali. Would love to visit this place whenever I am back in BBSR. 100% recommended.
