Kankurgachi Dhaba - Kolkata

There's always something different about Dhaba style food. Usually Dhaba dishes comes directly from Tandoor and with lot more spices that we Indians love the most. But can we get the same roadside dhaba food sitting in our own comfort at home? To check that we ordered some of the dhaba special items from Kankurgachi Dhaba. The food was delivered hot and on time. Also the packaging seemed good too. Here's what we ordered for lunch... Chicken Pahari : --------------------------------- A dish from Himachal Pradesh, some solid pieces of protein made in green spices that tasted different than usual Kebabs. Chicken Tangri : ---------------------------------- One of the biggest Tangri pieces I saw after a long time. Red, spicy and absolutely tendered chicken leg pieces tasted great. Such big Tangri pieces you can only get in a proper Dhaba and by serving the same they also proved it. This one was a solid starter to compliment the meal. Chicken Lamha @ Rs.200 : ----------------------------------------------------- Dhaba food isn't complete without Chicken Bharta. Well Kankurgachi Dhaba gave this traditional dish a little more twist and named it like a Bollywood song. Same chicken julienne pieces cooked in a red hot creamy & much more spicy gravy than regular Chicken Bharta. This dish goes well with Tandoori Roti or Naan. Chicken Biryani @ Rs.120 : ----------------------------------------------------- And finally the Biryani, a very standard, non oily, aromatic rice Biryani with balanced spices and a solid chicken piece. It wasn't much impressive but quantity and quality was decent. As per the quality, quantity and pricing goes this place is an affordable and balanced restaurant. I'll recommend their Kebabs that I find quite good and I'll probably try their Chinese dishes in future.

Was hearing about this Kankurgachi Dhaba since long, finally dropped in yesterday to taste their Chinese, they also have north cuisine but we preferred to taste their Chinese menu, We had : 1. Mixed Hot Garlic Noodles  2 plates 2. Mixed Fried Rice 2 plates 3. Schzwan Mix Noodles 4. Chilli Chicken 5. Hot Garlic Chicken 6. Schzwan Chicken 7. Chilli Garlic paper  chicken Dry 8. pieces chicken Lolipop 9. pieces drums of heaven Every item was fresh, and chicken lollipop was very crunchy and tasty! The chilli chicken goes perfectly with the mixed fried rice, highly recommended to every Chinese food lover in the city.

Kankurgachi Dhaba is located at CIT Rd, Kankurgachi. Honestly, the food was absolutely amazing. I'm impressed with their packaging too. Truly, worth the money. I would love to recommend everyone to pick your food from Kankurgachi Dhaba.

It's a 6 min walking distance from the kakurgachi more. It was earlier a delivery joint but now they have made arrangements for seating. The staffs are friendly and experienced. Coming to the food, we ordered - 1. Chicken lollipop (Rs 180) 2. Dry chili chicken (Rs 160) 3. Murg Tikka Kebab (Rs 210) 4. Chicken biryani (Rs 150) 5. Chicken Bharta (Rs 170) 6. Chicken Tikka butter Masala (Rs 220) All of these tastes delicious, I specially liked the dry chili chicken. Chicken Butter Masala was good but I expected more. Planning to visit more ?

When it comes to kebabs, I am very skeptical. Most people love that solid chicken breast marinated in various kinds of spices. But I always prefer kebabs which are tender and juicy. And for me, no other place serves it better than Kankurgachi Dhaba amongst the nearby places that I have tried and that too in a budget! Visited Kankurgachi Dhaba recently with my Munching Monks family to try out their various kinds of Kebabs and Parathas because currently they are hosting the “Kebab and Paratha festival!” ?LOCATION- This place is very easy to locate and is located near Kankurgachi of course.(Bagmari Kabarsthan Bus Stop) ?It is basically a takeaway come delivery joint, so people living nearby can come down here and collect your hot kebabs directly from the tandoor oven. ?FOOD- PARATHAS- a. KEEMA PARATHA(₹80)- This is basically like a kulcha, stuffed with fine keema. The Paratha was less oily and tender too, because it was finely cooked in tandoor. b. LACCHA PARATHA(₹30)- I had laccha paratha in many restaurants, but never did I find anyone as tender as this one. I don’t know whats their secret of doughs that all of their parathas are so much delicate! VEG KEBABS- TANDOORI ALOO(₹210 for 6 pieces)- The grilled and spicy aloos with the delicious stuffing is something which would satuate your cravings on the Veg days! ?? CHANA MASALA(₹150)- The balance of the spices in the chana masala was on the point and is definitely going to win your hearts. Enjoy it with the parathas. NON-VEG KEBABS- a. MURGH TENGRI KEBAB(₹230 for 4 pieces)- This one is my favourite kind of kebab because I love to relish on the bone pieces like a hungry animal! ? b. CHICKEN TANDOORI KEBAB(₹200 Full)- I always love the flavour of the smoky tandoor in chicken. So this has to be my next favourite! c. CHICKEN AFGHANI KEBAB(₹220)- The speciality of Afghani Kebabs is that they contain white pepper powder along with the general spices. The best part about this kebab definitely has to be its tenderness. d. CHICKEN LASOONI KEBAB- This kebab gives out a very satisfying aroma of the lasoon(garlic) which is enough to tingle the salivary glands! e. CHICKEN PAHARI KEBAB(₹210 for 6 piece)- Pahadi kebabs are prepared in mint, coriander, garlic and hung yoghurt. This is why they have a typical greenish colour! I have the same though on these kebabs too! They are exceptionally tender! Winters have already hit Kolkata. So don’t wait and grab your piping hot, tender and juicy kebabs from this joint and enjoy your winter evenings! Oh wait, did I forget to mention that they are exceptionally pocket friendly too? How amazing is that!

I have orders dry chilli chicken for starter and chicken biriyani for main course. Frankly telling the biriyani was awesome.. Really tooo good. Chicken was soft and taste was awesome.. Really good. Dry chilli chicken was also good but a bit spicy. Recommended for spicy food lover. Really love this outlet. I'll surely order from this outlet again and again.

Kankurgachi dhaba is a small FoodHub in the heart of Kankurgachi. They offer delicious mughlai cuisines and Chinese as well. But being a North Indian food lover since the very beginning, couldn't resist myself from ordering a Chicken Biriyani and a Chicken Bharta. ?Chicken Biriyani: The rice was cooked really well and the flavour seemed to be good. The chicken was tender and flavourful as well.but altogether, seemed a bit oily. ? Chicken Bharta: This tasted really good. Was a bit oily too, but what's a North Indian food without the floating oil? Definitely loved the taste and the chicken was cooked well too. The delivery was very quick and the packaging was really good. Had no hassle with the order, at all. Recommended ✅✅

After a long time I'm ordering my favorite food item from this place. Kankurgachi dhaba is one of my favorite place in town. I love their mixed rice and chili chicken. Their packaging is spill proof and the food quality is highly customized. They serves timely delivery.
