★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karjat (station code: KJT/S for South (local)) is a railway station on the Central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. Karjat is a major rail terminus, connected via local trains to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai, Khopoli and Panvel.
Regular shuttle trains run between Karjat and Pune. Located about halfway between Mumbai and Pune, the town is a famous stop to buy Vada pav, (a popular potato savoury originated from here) when travelling by train between the two cities. All long and short-distance trains halt here.
A new broad-gauge railway has started between Karjat and Panvel and harbour railway line now stands extended up to Karjat, but its not yet functional and pending since 2009.
Karjat has a bus terminal near railway station in Bhisegaon. It is well connected to other cities in and around state by Maharashtra state owned passenger buses.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karjat junction is major junction from Mumbai to Pune. Because from karjat towards Pune the area is hill area. Therefore they have to add or remove engine. The junction is neat and clean. They have upgraded the platforms also. Just on the other side u will also get local train for chatrapati shivaji terminus Mumbai and khopoli.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Major Junction for Train to Pune & Mumbai. Always very clean and neat. You should definitely try the Divadkar Vadapav which is sold on the station. Also please note there are a lot of duplicate Vada Pav Sellers on the station. The Divadkar sellers stand out by wearing a Red Sash with Divadkar written on it.
