★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have to visit the office almost once a week for my office work.The staff of this office are cordial and efficient.It has two meeting halls .one of them is air conditioned and it is used for executive meetings.It is fitted with all the modern amenities.There is a lawn in the middle of the buildings.Ample space for parking is available.There is a rain water reservoir.One can get snacks from the canteen .If one wants to have lunch he should order beforehand.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Katwa I Block had 1 block primary health centre and 3 primary health centres with total 28 beds and 6 doctors (excluding private bodies). It had 25 family welfare subcentres. 281 patients were treated indoor and 171,514 patients were treated outdoor in the hospitals, health centres and subcentres of the Block.
Srikhanda block primary health centre at Srikhanda (with 15 beds) is the main medical facility in Katwa I .Katwa Subdivisional Hospital at Katwa, with 250 beds is located outside the CD block. There are primary health centres at Chandrapur (with 10 beds), Kaithan (with 6 beds) and Sudpur (with 6 beds).
This Block is one of the areas of Bardhaman district which is affected by a low level of arsenic contamination of ground water.
Block is part of the area where agriculture dominates the scenario but the secondary and tertiary sectors have shown an increasing trend.
