Khalsa College, the premier-most institute of higher learning, was established by the leaders of the Singh Sabha Movement in 1892. They were inspired by the lofty ideals of the great Gurus. They planned it to be a growing institution which would strive forever to achieve high degree of excellence of mind and body for the welfare of the youth. The architectural grandeur of its buildings and layout of its campus clearly demonstrate the will of the founders.

Such a grand place.
Meet some students and looks very proud of themselves for being member of the univesity.
They gave me the most warm welcome.
A good place to be for small numbers or single traveller and not for big tour groups as this is a university. Needs to honour their privacy.
Place not to be miss while you are in Amritsar.

The 300-acre campus has acquired the status of the highest Sikh institute for education with an enriching environment and a progressive outlook towards society. The architectural wonder is built on the same location that Guru Hargobind won his very first battle. Architecturally identical in nature, the Khalsa College in Amritsar and Lahore were constructed in the Indo-Saracenic style with influences of the traditional Indian and Mughal architecture.
This historic institution was initially set up to conserve and promote the cultural heritage and language of Punjab. The aim was also to bring about social transformations by providing access to quality education. The college was designed by Bhai Ram Singh, who was the principal of Mayo Scool of Arts, Lahore.
Over the years Khalsa college has become Bollywood's favourite shooting destination, be it the famous court-room scene of Veer Zara, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Junooniyat with Pulkit Samrat in the lead or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Sarbjit. Many filmmakers have replicated the architectural style of the college into studios as movie sets. Vistors who wish to see the college need to take prior permission from the authorities.

Founded in 1892 sprawling 300-acre (1.2 km2) campus is located about eight kilometers from the city-center on the Amritsar-Lahore highway (part of the Grand Trunk Road), adjoining Guru Nanak Dev University campus, to which Khalsa College is academically affiliated.It became autonomous in 2013-14 and strength of the college is almost 7thousands more than 300 highly qualified teachers gave their services to this renowned college. This is the best institue of the city.

Big sports Ground . Khalsa college have given big celebrity i.e Dr. Manmohan Singh our X- Prime minister. Also big stars Mr. Parwin Kumar, Mr Pran . Some cine film also pay at college area.

With elegant onion domes and scalloped archways, Khalsa College's palatial main building is impressive and has served as the setting of many Bollywood films. Spend some time wandering the tranquil campus and gardens, but keep in mind that the academic and administrative buildings are reserved exclusively for students and staff–this is still a working university, after all.
