★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice ancient place out side of city. it is a good place to visit with family, for photo shoot. Just 5km Away from very famous KHODALDHAM temple. there is one cave with 2-3 rooms made for Buddhist monks for stay. it is completely carved out from the Stone. it is from 4th century, it is mentioned that it is the only Buddhist cave in Gujarat of its kind. It is protected place from State Archeological Department but doesn't look like. some serious maintenance work is needed, Information board is also completely rusted and hard to read any info. I have added pics - try yourself reading it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ancient caves near Khodaldham, Kagwad. On the way from Rajkot to Junagadh. Caves are said to be more than 2500 years old... Ancient place lovers must go here. This place is 4.5 km away from khodal dham temple. Here you will also find swings and slides for children. One of the oldest Buddhist cave one should visit if anyone is visiting khodaldham temple, kagvad than this cave can be visited together. No need to go specially for this. Amazing sculptures. Very serene place, lots of trees around. Very beautiful place with the heritage caves…There is one cave with 2-3 rooms made for Buddhist monks for stay….Though caves condition is not good but front portion having sculptures are nice. We saw 2-3 groups of pre-wedding photo-shoots around this area….

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a wonderful place! Sadly, when we went there.. there wasn't any guard, caretaker or any management person present. The gate was closed.
We opened it ourselves. The place was secluded. No sign of any person whatsoever. I wonder why this place is so neglected especially when there's Khodaldham temple just 7 minutes away.
This place should be promoted for tourism.
The old driver that took us to this place said that in my 32 years of driving career, I have never taken any tourist to this place.. no one goes there.. no one is interested in it and no one knows about it...and even I haven't seen it ever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A cave & a history of 1800 years old culture. Truly amazing. The government has recently constructed stone support pillars & beams to make sure that the structure do not fall. If you are into history, definitely visit this archeologically rich heritage site.
