Crossing point between states, state border between Mahabharata and Madhya Pradesh runs through this place. While traveling in a microbus, on our way from Maharashtra to MP, we not only had to pay the stipulated road tax for MP but also a bribe of ₹500/- taken at the check point by the police. There's a mismanaged queue in front of the police station counter and they accept only cash and offer a receipt for an amount ₹500 less than what we paid actually. We also had to pay bribes on entry to Khajuraho and on our return journey at Panna to Highway police patrols. Hamara Desh Mahan!??

The Khursapar gate is a must visit for everyone as the area is small and tiger sightings are frequent. It is not that far from Nagpur, within 2.5 hours you would be there but before you are nearing the place one must mark it out on the map as there is hardly any connectivity as you close down. At the gate there are basic amenities and washrooms but not upto great standards. Being a wildlife photographer I’m a regular there and mostly all the naturalist know me. The safaris generally start in the morning between 6-6:30 depending on the season and in the afternoon between 2-2:30. The well known tigers at this gate are Durga and her 3 cubs, Baras, Bindu, Handsome. Everyone says the best time to visit is summers as spotting is easy but I don’t believe in that as it depends upon the tracking and movement of the animal.

The park has two zones, The Buffer Zone and The Core. Entry in Core might sometime be not allowed due to rain, which we faced, and despite paying similar amount for Safari in Buffer Zone, we didn't find any interesting animals like Tiger there to see. So be careful before you plan your trip. However, the Safari was overall fabulous.

Great place to experience the jungle in the night and spot wildlife. More than spoting the animals, we enjoyed the experience of the jungle in the darkness.

Worst gate management. Donot pre book permit they make whole mess out of it. Had to pay more even after pre-booking . Late safari ride and be ready to enjoy only nature as you may not sight a tiger. Also if you didn't sight a tiger you feel you wasted the money but instead enjoy the jungle nature. Try to go in group of six. Hotel very costly here.
