β β β β β Visited this food spot for very famous Valsadi delicacy 'Umbadiyu'. They served piping hot umbadiyu with potatoes, radish, beans and sweet potatoes with ice cold buttermilk infused with cilantro. The vegetables were perfectly stuffed by green spices and chutney. All of the veggies were perfectly baked inside the grounded fiery pot and had scrumptious smoky flavour. The use of local spices and mortar pestle chutney were authentic and so scented, it's natural smell was retained on hands for days. Best umbadiyu of Valsad.

β β β β β Definitely the best place to get Ubadiyu at! Taste is heavenly and better than anywhere else I've been to! Its far outside the city of valsad, but it's good for atleast a one time visit surfing winters especially.

β β β β β Matla Undhiyu is a Gujaratβs traditional recipe that is typically cooked in a Matla or earthen pot. In south Gujarat, it is also known as umbadiyu or ubadiyu. Itβs a Gujarati version of Barbeque. Matla undhiyu is cooked with various seasonal vegetables like potatoes, surti papdi, tuvar lilva, green chilies, fenugreek leaves and more.
All the vegetables are cooked with other spices on the SLOW flame in the earthen pot. It has a very unique and delicious taste of vegetables and the earthen pot add some different taste to the food. Last week I have visited my village, where we have planned to cook it at our farmhouse. We cooked it and it tastes very delicious and we enjoyed a lot. Here I bring to you the easy recipe of Matla Undhiyu.
