★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Khidirpur Dock is the oldest dock of the Kolkata Port (Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Trust). The dock was built on a creek on the east bank of the Hooghly River. The dock was launched in 1892. Prior to the construction of this dock, Kolkata port used to unload goods from sea-going ships on the Hooghly River. The gentle breeze and view of the Hooghly River refresh mind instantly. It is a nice place to visit.

This dock was launched in 1892. Prior to the construction of this dock , the port of Calcutta used to unload goods from sea-going ships on the Hooghly River . After the construction of this dock, the cargo transportation of Calcutta port increased. This dock was built on a creek on the east bank of the Hooghly River.
