AT THE VERY FIRST- I APOLOGISE- This is actually NOT THE REVIEW OF "KIRNAHAR SHIBCHANDRA HIGH SCHOOL". This is a TIME-WALK..... ...... KIRNAHAR is in my blood- My mother was from this village. She was from the family of Sarkar's- the founder of this famous Shib Chandra High School. In my childhood days in early '70s- we visited this place with all other maternal-aunts and their children, regularly once in a year after the Annual Examinations. We used to play Cricket on the School Ground- some time but mainly we enjoyed 'LUKOCHURI' in the paddy field and inside the (then already abandoned the Original Jamidar-Bardi of Sarka's) "PURONO-BARDI" (now only the DURGA-DALAN is the only renovated part of the golden past, namely- "JYOTKISHORE DURGA-MANDIR")- which was full of poisonous-snakes. We surprisingly witnessed the snake-charmers regularly visited this place and never went back empty handed. Stealing sugar-canes from the fields, riding on a bullock-cart, visiting VADRA-KALI MANDIR with elders.... and many more other "BODMAISEEs." was our main attractions. But after the Sun-set we all became "FUSED"- and confined ourselves inside the room. Because there was no lights... Dancing & whispering Large-old trees just out side of the boundary-wall. Particularly not even a single ray of light could be found on the eastern-side. There was no electricity-connection at home also. We stayed on the 2nd floor of the Building & the kitchen was on the back-side of the ground floor and more-over just beside that PURONO-BARDI. So we lost our appetite on every night but still forced to had it in that "VOOT-er BARDI" itself. Though we were forced to wake-up very early in the morning with a very loud but "SWEET CALL" from our "CHHORD-DADU" (youngest uncle of my mother)- came with KALO-DADU (though he was one of the MUNISH but was respected by all as an elder family-member) with a great smile and glass full of fresh & chilled 'KHEJUR-ROS" "খেঁইয়ে লও গ্য দাদাভাইরা- ই তুমাদ্দের কইল্কাত্তায় পাব্বেক লাই বুটে"...... Other than those three large scattered houses of Sarkar's- a very little number of huts and small houses were there but much away from our place. So I felt very scary and always insisted my beloved mother to "LEAVE THIS PLACE BY TOMORROW- ELSE I'LL CALL GRANDPA TO TAKE ME BACK HOME" But in the very next morning- everything vanishes TILL THE EVENING AGAIN.... There was a BEL(বেল)-GACHH beside the house of Robi(Sarkar)-dadu.... but the fruits was surprisingly large in size- all most a size of a foot-ball. . ....................... In last 2010 I visited here again...... with my wife & son...... With the time our "CHILDHOOD KIRNAHAR" has changed itself drastically just like us. NOW I FEEL.... WHAT A GOLDEN PERIOD OF TIME WE "literally lost" Still I like to visit KIRNAHAR... again & again n again.....

KIRNAHAR SHIB CHANDRA HIGH SCH was established in 1895 and it is managed by the Department of Education. It is located in Rural area. It is located in NANOOR block of BIRBHUM district of West Bengal. The school consists of Grades from 5 to 12.Kirnahar, Birbhum, Kirnahar, West Bengal, India 731302

Feel proud to be a product of this School. Though it need some improvement but in comparison to the other institutions, it is far more excellent than others. God bless Kirnahar, God bless KSCHS.

It is a very good school. One of the oldest schools in Birbhum (Estd. 1895). It was established on the land provided by the local Sarkar zamindars in the memory of one of their ancestors Sri Shib Chandra Sarkar. The school produced many great personalities who made their marks in political, cultural and scientific world. To name a few: Sri Debnath Das (One of the Advisors of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the INA), Sri Pranab Mukherjee (Currently President of India), Sri Mrinal Thakur (Eminent scientist, currently in Auburn University etc.

This is a well managed school .Also this is only one higher secondary school for boys in this area. So they have a large number of students.Honourable ex President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee was a student of this school.Now this school have a large play ground, well maintained science laboratory and library.Teachers are co-operative to their students.

Excellent High School. Discipline is very strict here. Teaching here is also very good.

Boy's school in Kirnahar, Birbhum. Pranab Mukherjee who was the president of India studied here.. Old and famous school with good students and teachers. Usually results are good here.

Best higher secondary school in this area. School infrastructure and campus is good. In front of school there is a big play ground. This is one of the oldest school in Kirnahar. Schooling of Mr Pranab Mukherjee (former President of India ) was from this school. Land for this school is donated by the families of Mr Pranab Mukherjee.
