★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For Birth Certificate of your baby,you can go there after 2months of DOB,you've to fill up a requisition form,xerox copy of birth notification,given by your hospital and xerox copy of any ID proof of father or mother. You'll get printed certificate within 2-3hours. First copy is free and for each extra copy,you've to pay Rs. 100. Counter boy may harass you unnecessary, please don't pay any bribe to the counter boy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have visited the place on 15/11/2021 which is Monday and not a public holiday.Reason for the visit is For my son's birth certificate but the office is closed and some temporary staff said to me that today is some goddess puja or something so the office is closed I said that today is not a public holiday according to state govt calendar how can be the office is closed I also work in a Nationalised Bank the guy said come after December end you will get the certificate.This is the situation of the govt offices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited there for child's birth certificate. Location is just 5min from Jadabpur railway station. Visit there after 3-4 month after birth and waiting time approximately 3-4 hours. Must needed documents for birth certificate:
1. Birth notification from hospital. The name might vary from hospital to hospital somewhere it may say live birth certificate or birth notification or birth proof whatever it may be. It is issued from hospital at the time of birth.
2. Self attested photocopy of your I'd proof
3. Self attested photocopy of husband's or wife's I'd proof
4. In case applicant is not child's parent then authorisation letter from parents required
Collect requisition form from the counter , fill it up as instructed by the counter personal and wait for the certificate to issue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a public state government office located 5 minutes away from Jadavpur railway station. The process to issue birth certificate is smooth but time consuming , takes about 3 hours. The clerk at the counter will give a form which needs to be filled in block letters. The same data needs to be filled on the reverse page of birth notification. Then the birth notification photocopy and photocopies of I'd proof of both parents self attested need to be submitted. After verification, the birth certificate will be issued. First one comes free, 100 for each extra copy. Do not come before 4 months from the child's date of birth, their register is not updated by hospital.
