★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This historical palace is not open to public apart from Durga Puja and Jagaddhatri Puja. The monuments are not maintained properly and there is nothing to see if the palace is closed.
There are few nearby sweet shops, out of which Awdhar is famous for it's Chanapora and Swarpuria. However it is overhyped.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Historic place indeed. From Krishnanagar City Jn. station you can reach there via toto-rickshaw(usually they charge 15 rs.).
Better to come with a guy who has history knowledge or a local. You will enjoy the place surely.
And most importantly, there is a giant tree just in front of the palace, which is hollow from inside but very much alive. So don't miss to grab this opportunity of seeing this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ King Krishnachandra, better known as Maharaj Krishnachandra, was the ruler of Krishnanagar. His palace is called as the Rajbari Krishnanagar. Although currently the huge gate of the Rajbari is in a very dilapidated state but the main palace is being used by the defence staff & hence maintained well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For its historical link I'm giving the rating. There's seriously nothing to see. The Rajbari remains closed. We asked one local who said it opens only once in one year that it during Durga Puja.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Planned a road trip to Krishnanagar and visited its most iconic attraction. The palace is well maintained entrance is prohibited so you'll have to see it from the out side. The building has historical value.
In total it was almost 250km journey by road from Serampore to Krishnanagar and the surroundings. Krishnanagar has nice roads if I exclude the Krishnanagar-Ranaghat road which is under construction and full of potholes. Either way I would say this short trip was worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's one of the heritage places in West Bengal. This is built by The Great Raja Krishna Chandra Roy. Nowadays, their heirs gather during Durga Puja and Jagaddhatri Puja. One must visit this place during the month of April when Barodol Mela takes place in the Rajbari Ground.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Rajbari was built here during the reign of Raja Krishnachandra Rai. This plays is famous for the 'Baarodoler mela'. On Holi, 12 idols of Krishna, in his various formsare brought to the palace in Krishnanagar. The idols are displayed for public viewing on the first three days of the festival. However, the month-long fair, held in the huge field next to the old fort’s gate, is open to all. The idols are dressed in separate attire on each of these three days – rajbesh (royal attire), phoolbesh (floral attire) and rakhalbesh (cowherd attire), respectively. But you can enter the Rajbari only for those first 3 days.
