★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a beautiful wildlife sanctuary in Orissa close to the town of Nilagiri in Balasore district.
How to reach- Driving is the best option since you can get right into the forest, you can fly to Bhubaneshwar and then rent a car till here or by train to Balasore and then drive here. Taking a permit to enter the forest is required from the forest range office at Nilagiri so carrying ID card is required.
Stay - Best option is in the sanctuary itself they have cute tents and food is provided all 4 meals non veg or veg( veg food is not so good) outside in the hotels.
Things to do - Take a Safari but animal sightings ( this is a elephant sanctuary)is not much of a chance.
Boating- Neither the boats are maintained nor the lake.
Kuldiha has a small waterfall too which is also beautiful.
Temperature is humid during the day and cool in the night.
Overall nice living in the tent and enjoying the feel of the forest .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ With my limited linguistic ability, I will not be able to describe the beauty revealed by nature here. It's awesome, splendid, mesmerizing, astonishing and magical. Your mouth will enveloped with the sound of silence. Try to go there in an Electric Vehicle so that you will feel every note of nature's crystal clear music.
As the footfall is generally less, exact locations in google map are often misleading.
Follow exactly as per the direction given below:-
1. Within 9.30 am, reach to Kuldiha Forest Range office at Nilgiri. DO NOT go to Nilgiri Forest Range office.
2. Get the permission to enter Kuldiha Forest. Documents required are Aadhar card, Driving License, Car's Registration card.
3. Start your journey beside Nilgiri Rajbari, go straight to Gohira chowk then turn left and continue on the concrete road to Balianal Gate to enter Kuldiha Forest (30 Km from Nilgiri).
4. Remember, you are entitled to enter and exit through Balianal Gate only, so donot head towards any other gates in the way.
5. After entry, go to Risia camp first and place order for lunch. Then come back and go to Kuldiha Forest guard.
6. Travel through the forest, look for the deer and elephant... Butterfly and various birds, climb the watch tower.... And then come back to Risia camp to have your lunch.
7. Entry closed at 2.00 pm and you have to exit by 4.00 pm.
