Less freedom to students...
Even students in masters needs to be present in the lecture and if they don't the professors gets upset like a child
Even the great universities like The Delhi University, The M.S. University don't care much about attendance.
Apart from some exceptions professors here don't work on their teach style and their way of interacting with students or try to make their lecture intersting...
Instead they try to force attendance of students.
Some teachers or head of department are well known writer... So they try to maintain their reputation by false and forcible attendance of students.
Why do you need to do that?
Seriously? In 21st century you have ego that everyone must attend my lecture.
Even the IITan professors and Big University Professors accept that they must make their lectures intersting to bring more instead of forcing it...
There are few good proffesor that students never miss to attend their lectures like Sharma sir of English department. His way of teaching and approach towards students is the ideal that any current generation students want.
Down to the earth... Always available... And every year tries to bring something new... For the students...
Others need to learn this attitude and try to improve the way they approach the class.
There should be space for students to grow and do whatever they wants. Teacher should not try to make them like themselves. Instead they should help their students in achieving their best in whatever they want to do.
