Very ancient temple..filled with lots of sculptures... beautiful...

The temple is located in AVANIGADDA, krishna district of Andhara Pradesh. This temple is known to be constructed during chola dynasty, ie. nearly 1000 years back The temple tower in one of the biggest temple towers in andhara pradesh. The temple srtucture looks like a chariot ( RATHAM). The temple fallows the VAIKHANASA AGAMA archana vidhanam. It ia an endowment department temple and also under taken by Archaeology department Every year in visakha masam brahmotsavams are celebrated.

Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple, Avanigadda (M), Krishna District •Avanigadda, a mandal head quarters is located at a distance of 75 kms from Vijayawada in Krishna District and also approached from Machilipatnam and Repalle. Avanigadda located amidst pricturesque. Landscape and lush green fields is famous floor Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy temple built in 11th century A.D. The temple is also known as Choda Narayana Swamy temple built by the Kulothunga Chodadeva -II of the Chalukya Cholas. •On plan the temple consists of a garbhalaya, arthamandapa, Mahamandapa provided with doorways on its three sides, a separate shrine for Rajyalakshmi adjacent to the arthamandapa, gosthi mandapa towards the north-east corner, and a 7 storied Rajagopuram towards the east. There is a gitamandapam on the right side of the temple and towards east lies a Navagraha mandapa. The entire temple complex is enclosed by a prakara wall. •The main temple is provided with a pradakhinapatha alaround upto the Mahamandapa. Which serves as upapeetha. On vertical axis, the temple consists of adhisthana, padavarga, prasthara and a two storied vimanam. The sanctum sanctorium houses lord Lakshmi Narayana and the processional images and 12 Alwar images are in the arthamandapa. •The door frames are carved with jaya and vijaya on the right and left sides. The lintel contains an image of gajalakshmi. The 16 pillared mahamandapa and the portico pillars bear Vaishnavite images. The portico pillars are fashioned with lion sculptures. •It is very interesting to note that the temple is built in the shape of a Chariot, on whose front side is seen with pairs of horses drawing the wheeled chariot, a rare feature found in Diviseema region. There is a tall dhwajasthambha in the front side succeeded by a Garuda image, the vehicle of the god. There is a porch to the gopura on its inner side. The gopura built of stone upto the roof level and brick and stucco above is an imposing structure. •There are six inscriptions dated to the period between 1138 and 1154 A.D. engraved on the sill of arthamandapa, pillars and ceiling of the gopura denoting same gifts made to the temple.

The oldest temple. And only Lord lakshmi narayana temple near our place. We Never see Godess Lakshmi sitting in the lap of Lord Narayana.Looks very happy seeing Godess Lakshmi sitting in the lap of Lord Narayana. Since it is too old temple should be renovated. It's a place of worship where we will be blessed with health and wealth by Godess Lakshmi..

Good , ancient place... ?Not only for it's pleasant site and also for its historical importance for being built before 1300 years? One thing to be noted.... ?‍♀️The thoranam ( arch just above the Mr. Lakshminarayana swami) is unlike conventional as it has all the dasavataras sculptured on it ??
