Ferry service is run by the state government. It's cheap and best.

Bengalis love to celebrate their language, their culture, their politics, their fierce attachment to a city that has been famously dying for more than a century. They resent with equal ferocity the reflex stereotyping that labels any civic dysfunction anywhere in the world ‘another kolkata

You can use this to travel fast to many near by places. Its situated near the Howrah Station with a cost of 6 rupees per head for one trip. One must take a break from traffic and enjoy the traffic less water ride across the river Ganges. Service is regular and good and one of the most important ferry ghats !

Everything is perfect from its view to its nature. This amazing shots are clicked on my phone. Rating it 2 stars just because of the Jetty Caretakers. They are sooo much rude to the passengers who travel. Behaviour of each Jetty carriers are very much harsh to the passengers.

In front of hawara junction this ferry station provide water transport to other side of river Ganga river which is known as hugli river in Kolkata. At this ferry station you can see the beautiful view of hawara bridge.,............ .......

We took the ferry & crossed the Hoogly River, & walked back over the Howrah Bridge - interesting to watch all the foot traffic & the people carrying huge loads on their heads. The bridge is very precious looking. The river is also big and you watch lots of boat passing downwards. And water is likely polluted. But the scene of natural theme is beautiful mainly in night.

The ferry is a very quicker way to travel for commuters from one bank of the River Hooghly to the other, primarily between Howrah and Kolkata. Many people who have to travel in Howrah from one place to another, thay prefer using the ferry service. Most of the ferry services start from 8 in the morning and run till 8:30 at night. You can experience a very nice and beautiful scenery of the Howrah bridge using this ferry.

Howrah launch ghat is a busy point which sees thousands of passengers daiky crossing over the Hooghly river daily cutting down travel by road … most people get down at fairlie railway station coming from Far eastern and northern fringes of the city by train and take the ferry service to attend offices located on the other side …. Similarly people coming from the suburban areas of burdwan and asansol and even memory Pandus Bandel come by train and take ferry and cross over to get down at fairlie or Babughat and catch bus to workplace in southern or eastern by pass area to attend office …. The area remains busy and crowded for obvious reasons always
