★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had gone to surrender the LIC policy, we were conversing with the Customer Service Representative woman at the counter in Marathi (since she understood the language), she seemed to be offended & told us that here we speak only in English or Konkani, so speak English or Konkani, all the more we were surprised when she tells us that we don't know to speak Marathi ! Staying in Mumbai for years & we are told we don't know to speak the language, now that's quite a suprise to us. It seems she was offended by the language spoken & telling us not to speak in Marathi comes across as being disrespectful , racist and rude.
If language is an issue then I suggest the LIC office should put a board at the entrance telling people what languages can & cannot be spoken.
The CSR's are under lots of work pressure but am sure they can behave in a civilized manner & learn to respect the language.
Unfortunately, we as customers are at their mercy if we answer back or argue then the delays and missing documentation process begins.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No one bothers to respond. I am abroad and tried sending emails, tried calling several times but no response. I would not even entertain any LIC agent henceforth

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff is very good but LIC should pay more attention to the layout and interiors. Files everywhere. Its a fire hazard not to mention confusing for customers. LIC is lucky to have good staff.
My main grievance is that the office is on 4th floor. the lift goes up but the button to call the lift on 4th floor doesnt work. So people have to walk down. Looks like LIC doesnt care about persons with disabilities or senior citizens.
