★ ★ ★ ★ ★ With all those jazzy ads about centralisation and modernization of LIC, I believed that it would be a cakewalk to return a policy sold (rather mis-selling) to my father but it actually turned out to be a nightmare. I was aghast to hear from none other but the Branch manager that I cannot return my policy as a customer directly to LIC, but I need to give application to the agent & his Development Officer. When I asked for written Process around this, he mentioned that there is no written Process & this is how things work in LIC. GOD Bless all policyholders of LIC, as nothing has changed in last 20 years of introduction of IRDA. Agents were filling up signed policy forms in office without checking any details (medical, dangerous habits), and people are still sold Life Insurance as Investment products
