★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This looker of an e-bike came home about 5 months back and have already clocked more than a 1000 kms. I’d waited for it with bated breath since the day I first saw it on the Lightspeed Instagram page. As an avid cyclist who owns a few very good bicycles, the longing to own an electric bicycle was strong and persistent.
I went for Lightspeed’s Whizz electric cycle because it comes with a step-thru frame. To the best of my knowledge Whizz is the only e-cycle of its kind, both, feature-packed and well-designed.
Getting down to the specifics -
Variant: 8.8Ah, Single Speed àWhizz has a rear rack 8.8Ah portable Li-ion battery. This means that the battery nestles unobtrusively under the carrier.
Battery à The battery is easy to detach and re-attach, making charging completely effortless. I tend to charge it on my desk or any random plug-point at home.
Range à The company suggests a range of approx. 40km per charge in ideal conditions. This is calculated on straight roads with low headwinds at medium Pedal Boost and negligible throttle use. So I thought I may not get this range. But even in regular city usage I’m easily able to get this range.
Pedal Assist àOver the past 5 months, I’ve been riding at medium levels of Pedal Assist. With this key feature basically the motor gives me pedalling assistance, and it sort of feels like someone is pushing the e-cycle gently from behind. If planning to go for an e-cycle, do ensure it has Pedal Assist otherwise there is no point. Pedal assist mode with gears is exhilarating.
Throttle & emergency e-brakes: There is a twist throttle which Lightspeed has described as agile. This is an apt description. The throttle is responsive, quick, and instantaneous. Coupled with this are emergency Brakes. This means, if you’re riding at high speeds and you suddenly encounter a bump, pothole, stray animal, or some guy coming wrong-side, one touch of the e-brake cuts off all electric supply to the motor, helping to halt all momentum without a moment of delay. Hats off to the folks for thinking of this. Tells me that it is made for India.

Had some issues with the bike, company responded quickly and positively
I got my bike replaced, got just few days back ,
Peddle assist is just wow,
Breaking is great,
It’s a head turner in city

Purpose was going eco-friendly even self friendly and benefitting myself even the environment and loosing some Fat.
I may say fat bike for fat loss .
Commuted a lot on this bike more than me my brother did . He even don't allow me now and take it everyday. It shows how appealing and beneficial it is.
I would like or say love to suggest all the people this bike and many other options available especially for the people looking forward to bring the best out of them and even it's eco-friendly more self-friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing bicycle. I own a lightspeed dryft. I chose this cycle because if it's it's electric features.
I like to ride cycle on a long patch, but after very long riding we feel like just end this up for a while. But, lightspeed gave me the confidence of riding long distances without much effort . Currently my odometer shows it has travelled 4890 kms. I suggest this particular cycle to everyone as it fullfills everyone's desire to ride the bicycle without any hassle.
I extremely suggest this cycle whomsoever is looking to buy a perfect cycle.

It's light weight and smooth. Really love it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I belong to Hyderabad and ordered Dryft electric cycle directly via the LightSpeed website on Jan 2 2020 and got it delivered on Jan 16th 2020. I have been using the cycle for daily commute to office (in Hi-Tect City) from my home in Sun City and to and fro distance is 30 kms. It has been 45 plus days and I haven't faced any trouble so far. It is actually taking the same time for me to commute to office that it used to take me by car earlier.
While going to office, it's usually uphill all along my ride and I drive using pedal assist 3 or 4. During steep uphill roads (near Ikea), I pedal with pedal assist 5. While returning home, it's obviously downhill. With a full charged battery (vol = 41.9), it end up at around 37 vol when I reach office in the morning. I charge the battery in office again.
It has been so far a wonderful experience for me and I make it a point to ride atleast 3 days in a week to office using my Dryft electric cycle. I have finished 500+ kms on Feb 28th and a lot more to go. So far, I haven't faced by issues with the cycle and it has been going steady. Anyone looking for the following must go for an electric bike as it will help you ride longer distance compared to a conventional cycle.
1. Convert sedentary lifestyle to a more active and healthy one
2. Get more sunlight on a daily basis - which is usually missing in this age/ era we are living
3. Drive without the tension one get while driving a car through traffic
4. Get heads turned in your direction ;)
5. Choose to commute to work in a greener way.
The only thing I see missing is a bottle holder - which is important given the need for the same. Otherwise - kudos to the team at LightSpeed
