Nice place. Small and simple. Very peaceful. Good place to spend time with friends. It's like a small or lite version of Agrasen ki baoli ?. The only difference in these both monument is you can go till end of the stairs but you can't in Agrasen. Do carry water bottles of you can thinking to go here.

IG : THE_UNPIXELATED. It's a very confined baoli compared to what we have near CP (ugrasen ki Baoli). But definitely you should see this. Have a look at my insta profile(mentioned above) & follow it if you like the content. Thanks

Address :- Pocket 1, Sector 12 Dwarka, Dwarka, Delhi Loharheri Baoli or the Blacksmith’s stepwell, commonly known as Dwarka Baoli is an historic step well of the Lodi era. It is claimed to be the smallest Baoli in recent times, made of rubble masonry, this baoli is three storeys high with 22 steps. It is claimed to be 500+ year old building of Lodi era, prior to the arriving of Mughals in India is beautifully preserved and maintained by ASI. Although the entrance to the building is not at all maintaned by Govt agencies. This should be a park just like Humanyu's Tomb and Lodhi garden. It's in between the residential area, weren't able to find it easily because there is no any big hoarding on main road for public info. It was recently discovered in 2011, even the people of Dwarka didn't know about this. The story behind this baoli is that this land belongs to a school. When they tried to excavated then they found this. Pretty strange. This baoli has been made by Pathans.

Well maintained, clean place,l in almost centre of Dwarka. Not very big. Good place to visit for about 30 mins. More so as such places are rare in west Delhi (although abundant in Central and south delhi).

It is a step well. Usually has no visitors. The bottom of the well has grass and garbage admixture. It has an octagonal water tank bottom, measures 52' North South, 16'6'' East West. Nobody seems to know about this lodi era structure in the middle of Dwarka sector 12. Can be cleaned :)

MY EXPERIENCE of going to BAOLI, being at BAOLI was a 5 star to me . I reached there after driving bicycle for 10Kms, acc. to my idea. Google Maps doesn't take you to BAOLI but to the parking in which it is located. The gate of this BAOLI is difficult to spot so you can inquire abt it from guard of nearby apartments. If you have any difficulty in finding it then navigate to Gangotri Apartments or Dwarka Internation School and ask for this BAOLI . Now, about the BAOLI itself, I think it is not much popular because I had been to Dwarka Sec-12 for my school for 4 years but I never heard abt it. The BAOLI is beautiful to look at and more exciting is to go inside it and explore it. The walls are made of bricks and can be a very good background for self photos. I will upload photos of it and its vicinity so one may get an idea of it though I recommend you to go to it with feeling of "seeing first time" alive in your mind.

Revival of a small stepwell! You had heard about a stepwell somewhere in Dwarka in Delhi, but you could never find its whereabouts till few years back. Then few Google searches took you to few newspaper articles that talked about the discovery of a stepwell. Yes, it was the same you were looking for. Then one day you got to know of its revival by department of archaeology and INTACH. It was a good opportunity to see and document how it was before and after. The 16th Century Lodi era structure, Loharheri baoli sits in a residential area of Dwarka. It is possibly named after a ironsmith (luhars) settlement here in the past. Plain and simple in structure, like others it looks interesting when you come close to it. It was buried under trash and vegetation that were carefully removed to retain its originality. ?Loharheri (Dwarka) Baoli, Pocket 1, Sector 12, Near Gangotri Apartment/Dwarka International School, Dwarka, Delhi
