★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While planning to visit this church, I assumed that it was a RC church under Archdiocese of Bangalore. I had a nice surprise when I entered the church premise and I heard people speaking Malayalam all over :)
So this church is run by Vincentian fathers and offers both English mass ( Latin ) and Malayalam service ( Syro Malabar). It's a beautiful and peaceful church with an interesting statue of St Joseph in sleeping position. The church architecture and interiors does not resemble traditonal Syro Malabar design and if it were not for the 'mangalavartha' board I wouldn't have known either. The Syro Malabar church in Rammoorthy nagar although just 15 min away is a different experience altogether. I wonder why ;)
Now the church is huge with a retreat complex attached to it. While other churches are usually empty on Saturdays, I found this church buzzing with activity and people. A retreat was going on, youth were busy decorating the premises, selling Christmas items - well active and alive. I was also told that there is a parish hall on the second floor - although I didn't get a chance to see it myself.
The church is actually not very far from the outer ring road - but the roads leading to the church are in a horrible condition. But then what can we do about it, right?
