★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lokmanya Tilak Garden, one of India’s oldest public gardens – earlier named Victoria Garden by the British after Queen Victoria – has undergone a charming makeover. In 1897, a group of citizens decided to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. On May 31st, 1897, Mr. Wadia, a barrister, proposed to construct the Victoria Diamond Jubilee Garden. The jail garden yard across the then jail was converted into Victoria Garden.
On January 7, 1910, the marble statue of Queen Victoria, sculpted by renowned artist H G Mhatre was unveiled at the garden in the honour of Queen Victoria. This statue today is preserved at the Sanskar Kendra.

Queen Victoria Gardens are just opposite the Arts Centre Complex in St Kilda Road. The Gardens most famous feature is the floral clock. Melburnians love it, even if it is a tad cheesy, it'[s one of those things that make Melbourne Melbourne. The Queen Victoria Gardens are part of the Domain park lands. As one might expect, The Gardens hold a memorial to Queen Victoria, after whom the State of Victoria was named. KIng Edward VII is also commemorated. The Queen Victoria Gardens are worth a visit of half an hour or more. As usual, the grass is verdant and the Gardens are well maintained

and i really liked it a lot. There is mini gym, playing area for children, and walking area too. Flowering plants and trees that are also beautiful planted. You must have to visit this garden

So, recently I visited this garden for twice.. Very impressed with the work .. The basketball court, kids area which is quite big with all the swings, slides, sea saw and many more.. Now let me tell you the exercise area.. Very nice Equipments are installed here...
Somehow, the public is not behaving properly.. Like... The watchman is giving instructions.. Still they were like.. Hum to ese hi karenge...
At the end, I would say, this garden is blessing for the city area people.. So, instead of using it roughly... Take a great care... By following the rules..
