Lotus Temple - New Delhi
Welcome to the official website of the Bahá’í House of Worship, popularly known as the Lotus Temple located in New Delhi, India. Like eight Houses of Worship around the world, this magnificent structure stands for the principle of the oneness of humankind. People of all racial, religious, national backgrounds, are welcomed to pray and meditate within its precincts. It is a collective centre of society to promote cordial affection where everyone is held in its embrace as equals. This edifice is dedicated to the one God, the Creator of all humanity and of the entire universe.
The Writings of the Bahá’í Faith maintain that God is unknowable in His Essence and throughout the ages, He has sent a succession of Divine Messengers, Avatars or Manifestations of God, to educate and guide humanity.
The House of Worship highlights the importance of prayer in the life of individuals and communities. It provides a space for expressing that desire to communicate with our Creator through prayer that is conceived as “the essential spiritual conversation of the soul with its Maker, direct and without intermediation”. It further underscores the significance of collective worship as a fundamental element of a pattern of community life that is spiritually and materially prosperous. Furthermore, devotional services at the House of Worship are universal in character, welcoming all to be uplifted through opening their hearts and minds to the Words of God.
While worship forms a key tenet of the House of Worship, service to humanity is considered an outward expression of the inner transformation that worship brings about. This service is expressed through deeds carried out in the spirit of service for the betterment of humanity; communal worship in homes, neighborhoods and villages; an educational process that builds the capacity of individuals to serve others; and, through a pattern of community life embodying the principle of the oneness of humanity. In this manner, a House of Worship is envisioned to become a centre for social, scientific, educational and humanitarian services, living up to its title of the “dawning-place of the mention of God”.
This Bahá’í House of Worship, dedicated to public worship in 1986, is the property of and is owned by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of India.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ LOTUS temple is Baha'i temple for worship and meditation. People from any religion can go there for meditation and prayer. There is a formal security check before enterance. Please don't take ant eating things inside temple. I went there many times. It is free of cost to enter in lotus temple and management is very good, polite and nice. The view of temple in evening sunset is amazing and with greenery and garden it stimulate it's beauty more than amazing. I always enjoy to meditate there inside the temple. There is only one thing I didn't like that people going into temple don't keep silent so much sometimes they do talk inside the temple even if management tell them not to talk inside. Also some people takes photos inside which is restricted and not allow to take photos inside the temple. So I suggest people to respect temple rules and enjoy this incredible monument. Beautiful architecture . It is so clean, once you visit inside. One has to be quiet and enjoy the peace. It was a time when lotus temple was seen from very far due to less constructions and pollution but now this is not the case. You can visit here enjoy street food snacks outside this place, not that hygienic but do give it a try once .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a very good place to give peace to the mind, its calm atmosphere is helpful for prayer and meditation. The Bahai Upasana Mandir is one of the temples that is a perfect example of pride, peace and a great atmosphere. It is open from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the afternoon and there is no fee to go here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a wonderful place and a monument in Delhi India. A must visit place I would say and the most amazing thing which I love the most is that everyone is welcome here no matter what religion you follow or believe in. Very neat and clean premises as well. There is a library as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Although the entry inside is restricted at this Covid, but being in the campus is such peaceful. Calmness and peace can be felt here, such pure energy. Campus is well maintained, free of cost to enter and see the beauty around. The cleanliness is commendable, so is the staff behaviour. You can see varieties of flowers and well maintained trees. A must visit with your loved ones.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful and peaceful place...... Garden around the temple is a treat for the eyes ❤️ . Although be watchful for the timings or you will have to wait in long queue.
1. Don't bring FOOD, you cannot take food inside.
2.Visit in morning hours, you will enjoy everything more comfortably as for evening times there is a lot of rush and heat.
3. Don't disobey instructions....as for my experience staff is very rude and their way of correcting you will not be very good.
4. Watch for kids...They may get lost in the crowd as i have seen with my own eyes
5.It is a temple of peace but their is a huge rush of visitors that you are rarely going to experience any ☮️ peace.
