★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been undergoing Advanced Bharathanatyam training under Ms. Rukmini Vijayakumar for over 8 months now . The learning process is great. There is lot of importance given to correcting technique and posture which is highly needed for any dancer. The Adavus and Pilates classes have definitely made me stronger than what I was 8 months back and has given me a completely new perspective about dance as a whole. I consider myself fortunate to have found Akka to learn the finer nuances of Bharathanatyam. ?

Indian Dance forms..Martial Arts...Contemporary Dance etc...is reputed for training children and adults in their chosen fields. The Trust founded by Ace Danseuse.. Actress.. Choreographer Mrs.Rukmini Vijaykumar is instrumental in shaping and moulding young artists. My daughter who is 8 years old .. and training under Rukmini is inspired and motivated by her Guru... to do well in Bharatanatyam ... All parents would endorse a similar view... A big Thankyou to Team Lshva for bringing out the best in children...??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my wife's review of the Raadha Kalpa Dance Company so that other people can avoid what happened to her:
I Booked two one to one Bharatanatyam sessions with Rukmini through Nitya by email a month ago. Once she reassured me that I would ‘be assured to have at least 2 hours of private lessons each day’ although the timings might change due to Rukmini’s busy schedule and that if she was unavailable I would be taught by her senior student I booked my tickets to Bangalore for the long weekend.
As I landed in Bangalore in the morning I got an email saying that there is no one available to teach me on either of the days and that only the regular class was running. After I (politely) pointed out that this was not what I wanted as intensive one to one is very different from regular lessons what followed was a set of rude emails, personally attacking me and saying that Rukmini does not do one to one sessions for one hour (even though I had emphasised how I’d made myself free for 2 hour sessions at any time during the weekend). My favourite was ‘you cannot make presumptions based on a flimsy thread of emails’. How else is someone in the UK supposed to coordinate a dance class in India? It is clear Rukmini Vijaykumar’s priorities lie with her acting rather than her modern dance school if my experience is at all indicative of the atmosphere within it and I would recommend anyone intending to study advanced Bharatanatyam to instead have one to ones with the qualified Bharatanatyam teachers from the renowned Kalakshetra foundation in Chennai where the learning of the students is always put first.

1.Perfect place to learn art. I always feel that am stepping into devotional place.
2.More spacious with all basic facilities provided in the dance studio.
3.Maintenance of studio and parking area are like fine-tooth comb.
Rukmini Ma’am:
1.Ma’am is simply super, always with full enthusiastic. Never found her tired, her energy will makes us to feel more energetic.
2.Ma’am always makes us to be aware inside the class to ensure we are properly aligned while doing stretches and steps.
3.She treats all the students same who joined today and also days ago. Never shown partiality to single at any instance.
4.Happy to learn from her, she always address her students as MY GIRLS and MY KIDS. Which really makes us so pleasure.
5.Ma’am ensures each second inside the class is utilized with worth knowledge about dance.
6.The way she explains the theory makes us to remember and understand then there in class itself.
7.Best one which I admire is while discussing on theory concepts or homework, she will make us to explain completely and then she will clarify why it is wrong and what is right. She also appreciate and encourage if it is right and innovative.
8.Happy to see a person who is completely passionate towards arts and teaching on her busy schedule.
Seniors In Class:
1.They takes equal responsibility on the absence of ma’am.
2.They runs the class proper as ma’am instructed or inform them.
3.They also treat us equally without showing that they are senior students.
Happy and feeling blessed to Be a part of LSHVA :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's rare to find a teacher who is as passionate as Rukmini is. She makes sure, despite her busy schedule, she is the one who handles kids classes. If she is not available, the senior students who handle kids classes are equally kind and fun. This shows her dedication towards teaching. Hats off to her entire team!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Radha Kalpa and Lshva are great organisations. I have been learning from ma'am for about a year and half.
The atmosphere of the place will make you fall in love with the art. All the people are very considerate and caring, whether its Nitya dii, Sumana dii or Padmashree dii. Specially Rukmini Ma'am helps all her students, whether you come for one day or forever. She makes sure you dance well and learn something everyday.
She has made me fall in love with dance even more.
Ma'am has given so many wonderful opportunity to her students, from dance to theatre to music to art as a realm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is blessing to be able to learn from a teacher like Rukmini.
As a lover of art and as her student , I would want more people to know about her method of teaching and benefit from it.
The discipline that she enforces in the class in terms of consistency and practice is key to be able to master Bharatanatyam. I am sure anyone associated with any form of art knows this very well. It demands a life time of dedication and perseverance to master Bharatanatyam with the precision, grace and poise that Rukmini performs with. What makes her special as a teacher is that she tries to impart the majesty of her form in all its capacity to all of us who are getting trained with her, In the last three years that I had been learning from her, I don’t have a day when she cancelled a class, not a day I found her in even a tiny bit of hurry to finish the class!! We have had classes just hours before she needs to travel for her performance. Such is the discipline she puts in so as to make us students be disciplined enough to receive what she is trying to teach us. I would love to be part of the classes to just watch the teachers like Rukmini and Diya at Lashva teach. It makes one fall in love with all the forms of art and watch in awe the amount of heart they put in to spread the power of dance. Wish many more from the younger generation could make use of such teachers to experience the joy of dance !!!
