Mata Sahib Kaur ji a follower of the tenth Guru Shri Guru Goind Singh Ji.Mata Sahib Kaur was born on November 1, 1681 A.D. in Rohtas of Punjab, the present day Jehlam of Pakistan. She was named Sahib Devi or Devan at birth. She was the daughter of Sikh parents Mata Jasdevi and Bhai Ramu Bassi. Mata Sahib Kaur Ji was declared as the mother of all the baptized Sikhs(the Khalsa),as she wished to have a child of her own,to which the Guru answered and fulfilled her wish by placing the holy Khalsa in her lap. She is the mother of whole Khalsa Panth. When a sikh becomes amritdhari(baptized), Guru Gobind Singh Ji is his Father and Mata Sahib Devan ji is his Mother.
