Maa Kankalitala mandir is a good place of workship. This is one of the 51 pith of Maa Kali. People say that beside the mandir the kund is located in which maa skeleton is there. So the kund is not cleaned. A Great place of workship. The place is huge big. Ancient Shiv temple is also there. The temple is not in good condition. The mandir place is too big. Kindly visit this place if you can. Maa kali will surely give blessings to you. Jai maa Kali??

Kankalitala Mandir is the 51th or the last of the Shaktipeeths. The temple is clean and well maintained. There are no Pandas unlike other temples, so you can offer your prayers with time and peacefully. The water body is sacred. There is also an ancient Shiv Mandir (under renovation now) which is situated on the field diagonally opposite to the Kali Mandir. Must visit place of you are on a trip to Bolpur / Shantiniketan.

I always found the Maa Kankalitala Mandir to be a peaceful place compared to many temples. When we last visited, there was a short queue for the darshan and pooja. With a hint of winter chill in the air, it was not that bad. One of the attractions of this place is the presence of many Baul folk singers and musicians. There are lot of construction activities happening at the surrounding areas of the temple. I guess, during the next winter, we will see some nice developments in the area. Also found out the bhog is getting prepared for the Goddess. It was a nice place to roam around for some time and catch people in different sorts of actions.

One of the Shakti Pith, near to Bolpur within a radius of 9kms. Must visit for both the nearby cultural habitats and obviously the holy place of goddess Durga. Here in Kali Mata is worshipped with the greatest beliefs of best to life.

It is one of the five Sati Peeths of Birbhum District. There is a small pond where Maa Parvati's Pelvic Region (কাঁকাল) fall. The speciality of this temple is that, there is no Idol of Devi, only a picture is there instead. At particular dates, the place remains crowded with people giving offerings to Devi. You can view the burial place which is located on the bank of Kopai river. However, construction work is going on, but this is not much problematic.

Kankalitala is one of the "shakti peeth" among 51. It's 10km away from Bolpur, Shantiniketan. The weather over here is very nice surrounded by trees so there always warm and cool breeze weather. One can hire a ToTo or Car from Bolpur to go there. There are many dogs who are very human friendly and sweet. Also one can get Manohara or Monda sweet available there at just Rs.5 each.

The Kankalitala Temple is the 51st 'Swati peeth' and is located in Birbhum district of West Bengal, 10km away from Bolpur-Santiniketan railway station. Beside the temple the famous 'Kopai' river flows. It is a holy place for all Hindu people. The ambience of the place is very good and the temple is well maintained but beside the temple there is a holy pond which is very dirty and priest says that maa swati's body part is in the pond. I have become amazed to see that how a holy pond where God is present (people's opinion) can remain so much dirty. I think the temple authority and government should take care of this matter. It is a matter of belief and this thing has disappointed me. Overall I enjoyed the place but this thing have shocked me. The magnificent view of 'Kopai' river surely will amaze you. So please come and visit the place and worship here to get blessings. This place should be there in your list if you are planning to visit Bolpur-Santiniketan. Thank you so much.
