Madhuban Play School - Delhi

My son Aadi was not even 2 years old when I had to put him in playschool. I went on a huge hunt in west Delhi, visiting, reading about, meeting teachers at many leading playschools but I was thoroughly disappointed with them --- they were just buildings and gadgets and fundas, all a big business. Then I remembered that my neighbour's son had been to a playschool he loved, and I learnt from her that it was called Madhuban. The moment I stepped into Madhuban, I knew this was the place where I wanted my child to be: it has the wonderful, positive, loving energy of a home away from home. I love the beautiful green spaces, the sunlight in the rooms, the low student-teacher ratio, the kind and attentive teaching methodology. Madhu maam's teaching philosophy is a perfect balance that a child needs at this age: to be made independent and yet feel emotionally happy and loved. It is a very difficult balance (all mothers struggle with it), but at Madhuban, my son Aadi was reared in this way with great care. His intelligence has grown by leaps and bounds, and so has his physical ability. It shows the value of her decades of experience - I discovered later that Madhuban is the oldest playschool in west Delhi and that several generations of people I know have been its ex-students. I have seen Aadi blossom from a socially awkward, fearful, clingy child to a happy, social, loving and expressive boy at Madhuban. All in the space of one year. The teachers have involved me and my husband at every stage, through daily updates of videos and photos, as well as frequent meetings. They have paid very keen attention to Aadi, and observed his development in detail. Thanks to them, I found that he had a speech delay, and with timely intervention and speech therapy, his speech development has improved significantly. I cannot describe the care with which they - and in fact, all the children of his class - have loved and cared for Aadi. Especially Surekha maam, who has been like a mother to him, showing such lovely earnest attachment that it moves my heart so greatly as a mother. I hope all children get a chance to enjoy the beautiful experience of Madhuban. It is a school not just of learning and knowledge, but a place with heart and soul. Aadi and I will always cherish its memories.
