Today I was returning to Kolkata, after celebrating the festival's at my hometown. It was around 8:00 AM after refueling the car at Jubilee Petrol Pump, I took a detour from the NH and wanted to continue through Asansol Township as I was feeling hungry for breakfast. I was on a lookout for a good breakfast place enroute the township. As I passed through I remembered this famous restaurant called Madhuri. Well those who don't know about this sweet shop cum restaurant, it is a landmark restaurant known for its signature dish "Chole Bhature". I think it serves the best Chole in India. Atleast I have not tasted anything near to it. In a flash I spotted the sign board and parked near to the shop. I thought it will not be open at such early hours in the morning, though the city was waking up slowly. I was surprised to see the shop open for service. I was probably the first customer of the day. Was feeling a bit awkward to walk into a empty restaurant, but the staffs greeted me welcome. As I entered the entire atmosphere was full of the aroma of the chole, I was just wondering and hoped that it should pass the taste buds to. The waiter served my hot "chole Bhature". Though it was very hot but I could not resist myself from tasting a spoonful. I think the taste is still maintained. It was around 12 yrs from my last visit. And the shop looked exactly same as if time has stopped there. I was also nostalgic as it was my favourite eatery. I was introduced to this shop by my father. At slightest opportunity I used to visit this eatery with my dad. I was totally lost in my memory thinking of my dad, hope he was around to share this with me today. I think it is one of the oldest eatery in Asansol which is time tasted. The Chole is very tasty but I didn't like the presentation, as the steel plates and bowls are replaced by disposable plates. But when the food is so tasty who cares for the packaging and presentation. I just regained my senses when the owner asked me if I wanted more, he must have sensed the joy and satisfaction in my face. At ₹32/- per plate it was a very good breakfast if you ignore the idea of fatty diet and its evils. But once in a while rules can be broken, for such tasty food. It nurishes your soul's too. I ordered two more plates which I'll carry to Kolkata for remenicing it later. If you are traveling this route a must visit place for foodies. Good news that "Chole Bhature" is available whole day. Till the shop is closed.

A well known famous place for having Chola Bhatura.The taste has been the same for ages and the customers are seemingly very high at Madhuri at any time of the day.A cozy and pocket friendly place to enjoy with your friends,family or for couples .

Famous for Chole Bhature.. good price and taste also okay. They are maintaining hygiene on table but other hygiene is very bad.. walls are dark with smoke.. ambience is not so good. Smoke inside of the store/sitting area. Heavy crowded all the time..

40rs I think it's overpriced. But taste is good.

Food is fair but orignal taste which it was 20 yrs before is gone. Chole bhature and sweets available
