It is located in the ancient city of Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The temple is situated on the side of the holy river KShipra. The presiding deity, Lord Shiva in the lingamform is believed to be Swayambhu, deriving currents of power (Shakti) from within itself as against the other images and lingams that are ritually established and invested with mantra-shakti.

Mahakaleshwar is one of the holiest place of india. And it is one of 12 Jyotirlings and must visit for shiv bhakt. Best thing about the place was oderly and clean. But you have to have attend one special arti to have complete darshan of Mahakal..

Such a good palce in ujjain i have gone here from delhi it took me 1full day and half day of another day to reach there but at lastly i feel very good because i was in lockdown from last 100 days and it was my first trip after lockdown
