While driving from Odisha towards Varanasi, planned to take a lunch break. And fortunately on Google map saw this divine place. The moment me and my wife stepped inside this mandir we could feel the energy and calmness inside us. We spend an hour, ate our lunch, worshipped the goddesses and enjoyed the spiritual ambience

Mahamaya Temple located in Ambikapur, Ambikapur derives its name from the name of this temple. It is an ancient temple of Kalachuri era which is highly revered. It is said that the torso of Mahamaya Devi is located in the Mahamaya temple of Ambikapur. This temple was built by Mahamaya Raghunath Sharan Singh Dev. Thousands of devotees visit this temple during Chaitra and Navratras to offer prayers. Maharaja Raghunath Sharan Singh Deo built this Mahamaya temple in the Nagara style between 1889 and 1917. The Mahamaya devi is seated in a square room in the middle of the temple, which is built on a high platform with stairs around it. Along with this, a black idol of Mother Vindhyavasini has also been installed. The Yagya shala is surrounded by a pillared mandapa which is in front of it. Very calm Place.
