One of the most pleasant Kali mandir to be visited by the people who likes to pay worship with a very calm and quiet ambiance.

Wonderful temple! I did visit this temple twice; once in last Durga Puja Ashtami and the other visit was during my childhood! This temple is built with almost the same architecture of Dakshineswar Kali temple! There is no unnecessary queue and crowd inside the temple! Everyone gets fair chance of seeing the idol of Maa Kali.

Built in 1830! Dakshineswar temple was built upon its aesthetical inspiration as wished by Rani Rashmoni!

We visited suddenly and found very nice temple and location. The temple is Nabaratna style of Bengal temple architecture. Krishna Chandra Neogi had a dream and after that he made the idol of Goddess Kali from Benaras. Here Maa Kali is called by the name of Brahmamoyee. The puja here is performed according to Tantric rituals. Rani Rashmoni visited this temple in the year 1842-43. Many of local people visit everyday to attend puja and spending leisure time. This place very easily access by car.

Mahanad Kali Temple in Chinsurah subdivision of Hooghly district was founded by Krishna Chandra Neogi on the tithi of Krishna Chaturdashi in the day of Ratanti Kali Puja. Ratanti Kali Puja is normally held in the Bengali month of Magh ( January-February) every year. The temple is nabaratna style of Bengal temple architecture. The temple has undergone renovation.Krishna Chandra Neogi was a zamindar and he had a flourishing business in sugar and wood. He had a dream and after that, he made the idol of Goddess Kali from Benaras. Here Maa Kali is called by the name of Brahmamoyee. The idol is made of kosthi pathar (touchstone) and Maa Kali is placed on pancha mundir aashan, which is a meditation seat of five skulls. The puja here is performed according to Tantric rituals. According to Sri Swapan Kumar Neogi Rani Rashmoni visited this temple in the year 1842-43. This area was a dense forest. Sacrifice is performed here. On the day of Ratanti Kali Puja, a big hom (offerings in the sacred fire) was performed. There is a Shiva Linga inside the temple. The nearest railway station is Pandua on the Howrah-Bardhaman mainline. One has to take an auto or a toto to reach the temple. I visited this temple recently and I found the puja-like mood. I found a lot of people waiting to offer puja to the goddess.

Calm serene surroundings. In the middle of the village. Surrounded by trees. Nice place. Puja is offered by Panditji around 11am daily ( except on special occasions). No flower or sweets stall outside. So if u want to offer puja then u have to get flowers and sweets from outside. ( nearest place is Mahanad Chowmatha ). Sandhya arati everyday at 6pm.
