★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best hilltop of south Odisha. One of the very ancient temple and caves were there. You can see Duryadhan temple, bhima temple on hill top. Daru Brahma of Lord Jagannath temple also there. But to reach there you need to trek for those temple. Most beautiful and vally you can see. In long distance you can see bay of Bengal coast.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An awesome and relaxing spot located 70 km away from Brahmapur. We just loved how we were surrounded by clouds. A beautiful place to enjoy short trips to hill station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From bottom to half way the road condition is not good but the other halfway is much better . I think it has the best hilltop view after deomali .. The place place generally is not that much crowded and yoy can enjoy the nature in a peace and calm environment.. The only problem is network service is not available on top .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mahendragiri is the second highest mountain peak, after Deomali in Koraput district, Odisha, India. It is situated amongst the Eastern Ghats at an elevation of 1,501 metres (4,925 ft). It's still unexplored by many, not even by locals. Only a few handful people(around 12-15) were there when we visited. This place is around 95kms from Brahmapur by road. On your way you can visit Balakumari Temple (Hill top) and Parshuramkund (Stream), if you have time. After Tumbagada, roads are not good until Bhurakhat. This 25kms stretch is in horrible condition. Don't dare coming here in vehicles with low ground clearance. We heard from Andhra(Ichhapur) side the roads are good. So you can give that a try. Carry your own food and tents ⛺ if you are planning for a night stay. Temperature drops below 10 at night, so plan accordingly. There is an Ashram, Kunti Temple and a Shiv temple nearby, in 2kms if you drive further from Mahendragiri view point. Reach early and speak with the priest, you might get lunch arranged by him free of cost. But do give them few hundreds as a token of appreciation since it's not an easy task to carry all these food supplies to that height. On the foothills of Mahendragiri you have a Shiv temple and on top you have Bhima temple. It's said that Pandavas stayed here during their disguise (aagyantvaas) period and Bhima built this temple. You won't find a single shop there. One more thing DON'T LITTER AND RUIN THE BEAUTY. I saw some idiots threw beer bottles, packaged food wrappers and other plastic bottles there. Understand that we have already destroyed the nature enough, at least leave the places for our next generations which are unexplored and untouched as of now. It's our responsibility to keep the surroundings clean.
