★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Malda Zilla School is the oldest school[1] at Malda district, West Bengal, India. At present, the morning section of the school runs from Class – I to Class – V while the day section runs from Class – VI to Class – XII. In the higher secondary course, the school carries studies in all the 3 streams of study; namely the Science, Humanities and Commerce streams of study. This is one of the reputable school of the district.Established in 1858, the school started in the building in which the superintendent of police of Malda District resides at present. It all started in two and three pucca rooms and in thatched rooms. In 1897, the school shifted to the present campus having 11 compartments and 1 hall attached to a courtyard. Before 1985, the building was called the main building. In 1985, the building was named after an eminent student of this institute Prof. Benoy Kumar Sarkar as Binoy Sarkar Bhavan. The building is used for administrative purposes. There are 24 classrooms housed in Jagadish Chandra Bhavan, Rammohun Bhavan, Vidyasagar Bhavan and Nazrul Bhavan. From 1897 onwards, the school had two hostels – the Hindu hostel and the Muslim hostel. The two hostels have been amalgamated under the name Malda Zilla School hostel. The hostel provide accommodation to 60 students of the XI and XII standard and a few students of lower classes.[2]

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best school of Malda.. Teachers and students are like family.. Safe from all sides.. No badass kids like other schools.. Juniors do respect to seniors and senior do care of juniors.. Head sir is such a good person that one can't describe.. Each and every faculty is Highly qualified.. Any other school is not comparable with this school.. Also they faculties are always ready to help us with their personal notes and tuition like cares in school.. Our faculties are not in favour of personal tuition like other schools do.. Proper drinking water facilities, clean toilet, cycle safety, cctv cameras, 2 mega hostel, student's own locker, football facilites, co operative teachers, one of the best library, drinking water coolers and much more.. I bet any other school can't provide such facilities and school maintenance either..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was in the graduating class of 1966 from the Malda Zill School. Since 1972, I have settled in USA. earned my MBA and CPA, worked as a CFO over the past 30 years before retiring in 2018. I owe my successful career to an excellent teaching environment afforded to me by this school. I treasure so many fond memories such as playing school football, participating in school sports, lining up for school lunch, walking back and forth from the school with friends , and studying longer hours to earn first division in the HSE. I will always remember my teachers and class friends, even though it is over 54 years that I last set foot in my old school. This school's education has taught me to be ambitious, bold, aggressive, kind, and always optimistic about life. Although I am married over 42 years to an American woman from New York, and have one son and daughter, basically I remained the same person while at age 16 and graduating from Malda Zill School. I love the cultural heritage of the people of Malda. My parents have passed on and I still have the old house in Mockdampur Malda, but haven't visited the place after my mother passed away in 2010.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is the very first school in Malda district, made by the then British government in 1858 since then it is running with pride & glory. Now, it is one of the best school and hundreds of pupil cultivate their wish to get admission here. I think the environment here is the best in the entire district. The highly qualified teachers recruited by WBPSC, teach here with their hearts content. But, cannot say what will be the future as the is no admission test and pass-fail upto class VIII, according to the rules of West Bengal School Education Department ( I think this is the prime period, class -I -VIII to build the base of the students and there is no pass-fail means no seriousness ).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I Studied here for 12 long years. It was a Great time of my life. The prestigious institution has its own history hidden itself, Built way before independence (1857). But its true that the quality of education and other cultural activities are going down day by day.
But Still it's one of the best schools in Malda.
