★ ★ ★ ★ ★ মনসা হলেন একজন লৌকিক হিন্দু দেবী। দেবী ভাগবত পুরাণ সহ আরও অনেক পুরাণে দেবী মনসার উল্লেখ পাওয়া যায়। তিনি সর্পদেবী। প্রধানত বাংলা অঞ্চল এবং উত্তর ও উত্তরপূর্ব ভারতের অন্যান্য অঞ্চলে তার পূজা প্রচলিত আছে। সর্পদংশনের হাত থেকে রক্ষা পেতে, সর্পদংশনের প্রতিকার পেতে, প্রজনন ও ঐশ্বর্যলাভের উদ্দেশ্যে তার পূজা করা হয়। মনসা ঘট স্থাপন করে পুজো করা হয়। মনসা নাগ-রাজ (সর্পরাজ) বাসুকীর ভগিনী এবং ঋষি জরৎকারুর (জগৎকারু) স্ত্রী।[১] তাঁর অপর নামগুলি হল বিষহরি বা বিষহরা (বিষ ধ্বংসকারিণী), নিত্যা (চিরন্তনী) ও পদ্মাবতী।
 Manasa is a worldly Hindu goddess. Goddess Manasa is mentioned in many other Puranas including Devi Bhagavata Purana. She is the serpent goddess. His worship is prevalent mainly in Bengal and other parts of North and Northeast India. It is worshiped to protect oneself from snake bites, to cure snake bites, to reproduce and to prosper. Manasa is worshiped by placing pots. Manasa Nag-Raj (Sarpraj) is the sister of Basuki and wife of Rishi Jaratkaru (Jagatkaru). [1]
