β β β β β Not worth a visit if you already have been to zoos and guided tours in other wildlife sanctuaries. Forest office is a good 1 km away from the actual wildlife area. Also, they charge 30/- per person as entry fees, 100/- for camera and 100/- for car. You can hire guides for 250/-. You can drive your own car here. There is no one to stop you if you directly enter the forest area without buying tickets. We spotted only deers and some birds. Land is barren.

β β β β β Saw a lot of Chinkaras, some good and rare birds as well. You can drive around inside but that will scare the animals away. Park at places and walk around.

β β β β β Not an exciting spot. Some deers could be seen. All gates are wide open though there is notice warning visitors not to enter without tickets and that it is crime to do so. No guard to check on gates. No one bothers to see if you have purchased tickets or not. Forest department should take note of this.

β β β β β Smallest wildlife sanctuary of India. 70 kms from Pune. Good place to spot deer and variety of birds.

β β β β β Good development & reserved sanctuary for Chinkaras. Enjoyed drive on internal roads, it was cloudy & could observe many deers. One can spend couple of hours & have nice time with family & friends. If small children are in group then it's more enjoyments. No other arrangements in sanctuary. All gates are unmanned . Very safe to move around. Different fauna & flowers .

β β β β β Mayureshwar is a small package with a lot of force, Chinkara are in abundance which is good to see, they are small and nible and blend well with the sun parched grass so keep an eye out, they are also quit shy so if too close not only them but any other Chinkara around will run. Mayureshwar is filled with wildlife, I have seen shrikes, lapwings, falcons, deer, kingfishers, bee eaters and more. There are towers stationed across the park so you'll get a good view, I recommend going in the evening before sunset or morning if in Pune leave at around 5:30 to 6:00 if in Mumbai it will take you approx 2 hours to pune and another hour or 40 minutes from Pune to the sanctuary, fun fact there is also supposedly the first Ganpathi temple ever made over there. You can enter free with the car (or I have atleast) do not recommend walking by foot do not do that, instead taking a silent car with high clearance to keep away from the occasional big rock, so do keep that in mind. If you wanna get a camera minimum zoom should be 18x optical, any less than that and it's useless, you will need a camera with a fast auto focus, or you should be fast at focusing as the animals there are small and nimble. You can stay overnight but do so in the towers due to their being a pack of well knnown wild dogs, striped hyenas, the Indian wolf and jackals, all of which can do lots of damage to you, another reason not to walk, and that's pretty much it, enjoy.
