About Modi Industries
Modi Sugar Mills Limited was promoted in the year 1932 and subsequently changed its name to Modi Industries Limited (MIL) on 17th January, 1964. Over the years, MIL grew into a multi-unit company having its Registered Office at Modinagar (U.P). The company consists of nine manufacturing units namely Modi Vanaspati Mfg. Co., Modi Paint & Varnish Works, Modi Arc Electrodes Company, Modi Gas & Chemicals, Modi Soap Works, Modi Lantern Works, Modi Sugar Mills, Modi Distillery and Modi Steels. All the divisions of MIL are located at Modinagar, Distt. Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Shri Mahendra Kumar Modi, one of the two Managing Directors of MIL is managing and controlling the affairs of six units i.e Electrodes, Gas, Paint, Vanaspati, Lantern and Soap. Shri Umesh Kumar Modi, the other Managing Director is managing and controlling the affairs of three units namely Sugar, Steel and Distillery. At present, out of the total nine units of MIL, five units, viz., Sugar, Distillery, Electrode, Paint and Gas are functioning and four units viz. Steel, Vanaspati, Lantern and Soap are closed. Common activities relating to the Corporate Office are looked after jointly by both the Managing Directors.
