Moyna College is the only general degree college under Moyna police station, one of the most literate areas of west Bengal, which was established in 1972 by some local enthusiasts. The college with a well maintained garden and a vast play ground in front of its three-storied building and a large pond behind and a wide area of water bodies beyond the boundary has an atmosphere which can develop an aesthetic sense and concentration among the learners.
Moyna College is proud to be associated with the name of the place Moyna Garh which is historically famous as it was the fort and residence of ‘Raja Lausen’ of ‘Dharma Mangal Kavya’. The dilapidated ‘Rajbari’ and ‘Parikha’ (the protective ditch around the rampart) are still there as the marks of royal tradition and heritage.
