How we started

There is no greater comfort in the world than to find the comforts of home in a land far from it, and for all the “Probashi ” Bengalis living in Mahagun Mywoods, this comfort came in the form of Mywoods Bengali Cultural Trust.

The entire journey of MBCT as a collective had its humble roots in the subtle introductions between all the Bengali families living in the society which eventually manifested itself into a desire for undertaking an initiative that would help them in rejuvenating memories of their culture in a home away from home. The journey of MBCT as an association began on 27th June 2018, with the registration of the Trust, conferring its legitimacy. Since then, it is no hyperbole that MBCT has had quite an unstoppable spirit. As a Socio-Cultural trust MBCT has engaged itself in bearing the torch of the rich cultural heritage of Bengal. As being an integral part of the society MBCT has its own philanthropic vision to support those who need.

A brief list of our wishes where MBCT would be extending their hand includes:

• Organizing cultural programs and events to promote the Indian traditional and contemporary culture among youth.
• MBCT provides food & clothing, to promote women welfare/health programs.
• We at MBCT engage ourselves in the initiatives of improving the greenery and environment by undertaking plantation drives.
• We also support and maintain charitable work in the field of education to eradicate illiteracy by providing/supporting basic education, health care to empower the socially and economically weaker section of society.

In future MBCT have plan to support the physically or mentally challenged persons and to provide them assistance in their education, food, clothing and other necessary help; to grant relief and assistance to the needy / sick persons and to distribute relief material, medicines, food, water etc. in the places affected from natural calamity like flood, drought, famine and war etc. (Either independently or jointly with any Government or Semi – Government agencies or Association of similar object) out of its own funds or collected from outside by way of donation, grants, or contribution etc.

We also wish to engage in the activities for the welfare and up-liftmen of women particularly widows, old aged and those belonging to lower strata of society. MBCT pledge to take up effective but reasonable and lawful steps for the eradication of social evils such as Dowry System, Wastage of money in various function, use of intoxicating drugs, Child Marriage (Bal-Vivah) and Child Labour etc.
